Root Evo 4G to Boost Mobile Guide/Evo 3D

A sanyo Taho can be used as a donor. All you need is for it to give up the aaa keys properly. Getting the MSL should be easy, use the standard procedures. Once you get that and connect it to CDMA ws ask for the aaa keys. If you can get that you'll be set.

It is a 3g phone so you should have 3g too. I do see a few hurdles. One is getting drivers. Second may be the usb cord that can read it. Another might be getting it on your Boost account. Boost didn't release that set you may have to jump some extra hoops to get it on your account.

Got a method for the Sanyo Taho as donor? I know they work fine just having trouble. I've got the SPC/MSL just looking for HA/AAA keys but cant get any phone to show up with a com/port number so I dont even know which one to connect too. :( Might have to switch over to my 32bit comp to see if I get any farther since I'm guessing its a USB driver problem?

not sure how to get the taho in dm mode...if i go to settings>memory>connect to a pc> it connects to my comp for sd file transfers but dont think thats actual dm mode. i can access 3g data programming settings within the taho by dialing ##3282# but not sure what to do after that. ive been told its the same method as the rant or incognito...wish i could just hire a tutor on this one lol
 
Where do you live? Do you have paid version of cdma work shop? Can you it's 32 bit Windows?
I have cdma ws if your close you could bring it here

appricate the offer, im in washington state. i have the cracked version of pro and am attempting to do this on a 64bit but have a 32bit system i could use instead.
 
Yeah about as far as you get from me in the continental US the cracked version is not as good as the new one which can't be cracked yet it is possible that 32-bit will give you the drivers you need
 
Thanks. You guys are the best. What about using a Prevail as donor. I tried once with an Incognito, after many tries I was partly successful as I could only get near 1x speed ( 31-32k on speedtest.net) and messaging was spotty.
Any ideas on prevail or best phone to use ?

With the incognito you apparently did not have have the AAA keys correct.

The prevail works, getting the nv items is a bit more involved then it is with the incognito but its doable.
 
Hello everyone! thanks for this posting on flashing.
I have a Sanyo Incognito (donor) and a HTC EVO 4G(recipient) I am stuck on zeroing out MEID, after 20+ times I have zeroed out ESN however, I do find and zeroed out NINE MEID locations however, once I reboot the MEID is back. The ESN will stay at zero however, the MEID comes right back.
Thanks for any help, I spent most of my xmas struggling to complete this flash.

Dont use that old method for zeroing out each memory location.

Use the evo 3D method which is much better.

Round 6:
Follow these steps in exact order.
1. Download and install the QPST Build 366 of version 2.7 and the HxD, and the latest Android SDK from the following link: Android SDK | Android Developers
2. Put the phone in USB debugging mode by going to settings/ applications/ development and check in where it says USB debugging, also it is helpful to check stay awake so you can see the phone processes while working.
3. Go to phone and dial ##3424# to access Diagnostics mode the computer will need the appropriate drivers to continue, once installed move on to the next step.
5. Open your device manager from the control panel, and locate your com ports, expand the com port section and you will see the port for HTC DIAGNOSTICS.
6. Open QPST Configuration and add the new port for the HTC, then close configuration.
7. Open EFS Explorer from the start menu under QPST and make sure the phone is showing up then, Enter the SPC code and press OK.
8. Once the phone reads completely make a new directory named (open sesame door) without the parentheses and all lower case
9. After making the new folder locate abd.exe from the android sdk install folder and press: start, run and type cmd then press enter you will get a command prompt window that opens up navigate to the android sdk directory and type; adb reboot, the phone should then reboot if you

Hi everyone, I have a evo 4g flashed from a donor Incognito. I finished all the steps and rebooted however, I cant make call or texts. when I do call the evo the evo will ring once and show missed call. I cant make call from the evo also. I get a error 16 695.
Any help would be appreciated.

error 16 means the system thinks there are too many phones on the account.

The easiest way( to fix yourself) is to go to boost website and put a different phone on your account for 5 mins then put your donor phone esn back.

Or you could wait til the end of the error message get connected to customer service and have them send a refresh, remember its an incognito when they ask.

both those ways will likely give you data connection problems, so you will need to reactivate the data profile.

Should be able to just update data profile. depending on how you "flashed" it.

Okay I am new to the community and You all helped me a lot in the forums time to give back. Ive done this to get my phone working on boost mobile.and every bit of info helps. i got the HTC Evo 4g on chop suey 9.2.7 kernel and mikg rom 2.59 overclocked to 1190 performance.

this is a compilation of everything you need to flash to boost mobile. reason im doing this cause when i started it was hard as hell and i didnt know jack.
plus people are charging you an arm and a leg for them to do it, and there being really stingy with the info. cause the wanna milk you for the money to do it. sharing is caring. this is why were here. to help each other. its your phone you should be able to do what you want or witch ever service you want. not be locked up in a contract. bad enough being married. ENJOY:D

There is a list of phones floating around somewhere, the incog is the easiest on to use that is why its listed in the guide, the prevail is another that has become easy, and plentiful.

Then there are others, the warp has nv items locked so its not very good until someone figures that out.

Ok so the phones like the rant and.incognito are phone that already have been figured out to use in the flashing process... my question now is.

Is it really necessary to use them? Lets say for ex.
I have an evo 3d but no boost account nor the donor phone.
Is their another way to flash the evo and then active it??

No because you need the keys and meid for the phone to get provisioned on the carrier, your Evo doesn't exist on their system.
 
My question is this.I have a transform ultra for boost.just got my evo shift in the mail.I read somewhere that some of this info is no longer needed to program the shift.is this true?also.the TU is a 3G boost phone.if I do need the AAA password,does anyone know where/how to find it?the regular method w QDXM pulling profile 0 returns error response received from target.
