Root Evo 4G to Boost Mobile Guide/Evo 3D

Need Help!!!!

In the process of trying to flash my friends prevail to a e4gt the prevail wigged out me.

I got as far as extracting the 465,466, and the other 2 needed for the process.

Is this all that I need or do I have to get back into the phone because thats my problem. The phone went into this permanent airplane mode state, it constantly reboots, cant make calls, cant enable diag mode. nothing.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Edit:
Oh, also... Is there a way to adb shell info back into the prevail to get it back working again?

You're trying to flash a Epic 4g touch? That's a problem. Those phones will not activate OTA.

Option 1. Pull 465, 466, 465_1 and 466_1 from the donor. Doesn't matter if the phone is dead. You need those things off the phone. That and the MDN/MSID info.

Option 2. Check your PM box.

Hi im using a Huawei M735 as my donor phone, its also the phone that i am currently using with metro. Im trying to activate a Samsung Admire that's already a metro phone but i wanna activate it without paying the extra charges. I've placed the esn and Meid of my M735 on the Admire, and dialed *228 to activate, but it keeps saying the phone is already activated on another account. Do i need to deactivate the M735 before activating the Admire ?? Please help me.

So I'm trying to do this to get my EVo Shift on Boost Mobile. It's more or less the same process (I did it for virgin mobile with no problem)

The problem, though, I'm having is the AAA Key.

I'm using a ZTE Warp as a donor phone, and the NV Items seem to have a lock on them...

whenever I do the requestnvitemread step, I get an error in QXDM.

Thoughts/suggestions?

Can I use CDMA workshop, save the NAI information for both AAA Keys, since they appear to be different if I read the guide correct? Or are they one and the same for profile 0 and 1?

Any help would be appreciated :D

Is there any way to use the ZTE Warp as a donor phone?

None that I'm aware of. NV items are locked. It'll accept the default Sprint password but that's not getting us anywhere. Wont give up the passwords to QXDM. If anyone has any ideas throw them at me here. I'm in possession of a Warp at the time being and I'll be able to test. But up until this point any attempts from me haven't been able to get this phone to give up the necessary info...

I've tried reading the phone with CDMA ws (paid latest version). I've tried sending the MSL and looking at the EFS. Nothing there. As mentioned before nv folder is locked (like on LG phones). Cannot get into the folder. I've tried reading it with QXDM. requestnvitemread dd_mip_ss something or another. No love.

BTW. I sold that phone last night on emergency to someone. Dude bought it off me for $120! It was too good of a deal to pass up!

I usually activate another phone before i activate the phone i switched the ESN on because if you change the ESN metro will think that the phone you have is already active since its the same ESN, so if you can get your hand on any phone and activate that one and then try your evo again

Hello, I like to know if someone could assist me.

HTC Evo to Boost
Rom: Decks Reloaded
Revolutionary
Supersonic Evt3 Ship S-Off
Hboot: 6.16.1002
Radio: 2.15.00.05.02
Donor Phone: Incognito

I have rooted the Evo and my data (3g) is working. My SMS and Phone will not work. I know that is because I did not properly switch the phone data from the donor to the Evo. I ran the CDMA program and found the following ESN places. I now have a problem with Qxdm bring up in information when the phone is plugged in. The following is the problem I having.

I am searching for my esn's. I used the tutorial and this video . (The time of Qxdm use is 12:14) I stayed with Cdma. I ran a memory check Fa00000 1090000 to end up with old esn's I am now at the point were I am to add the values together and use memory viewer in Qxdm to find them. The thing nothing comes up.

I am stuck. This is what I got.

When I open Qxdm there are no values for anything. When I press spc 000000 nothing happens. I am connected and the mode is set at streaming and the RX rate is 64 and the TX is at 56, SIA is Stopped, the logging and Events are set to off. The only thing that is up is the address.
Plus what values do I add if there is only 3 for the FA and 9 for 109?

You think you can give me some assistance?

Thanks,

Mike.

The guy didn't say that he used a donor per say... but he used one. He glazed over saying it. Look at the 10 min marker and onwards. Can you do it without a donor? No. Can you do it without a physical donor? Yes.

Meaning you still need a donor, you just dont have to have it in your possession. Will not having a physical donor give you issues later? Maybe. I've flashed a few phones without physical donors. The problem rate is 80/20. What happens when you're the lucky 20 who have problems? You reflash.

BTW. If you didn't get it the "lucky 20" was sarcasm.

In my experience writing profile 1 gives more error 16s and sometimes doesn't work outright. As long as you have a VALID profile 0 you should not have trouble doing the OTA.

I have noticed that doing a ##786# reset after writing the new meid and before over writing profile 0 does seem to give better results. Obviously YMMV in this case.

PS: Incorporate the reset into the above instructions.
It seems this step, the ##786# is required, that allowed my phone to do the OTA activation.
And seems to have allowed my prevail to be the donor.

Congratulations! I know we've been working on this for a while now!

For our next trick you should scramble the MEID of the Prevail so you can give it to a kid small enough to enjoy a ipod like gaming device but not big enough to demand a full phone/ipod. Just make sure to keep the details of profile 0 saved somewhere.

BTW. What ROM are you using on your EVO?

Decks reloaded
I remember having problems with EPST with Decks reloaded. Refresh my memory for me will you? EPST gives you issues or it works fine? I need to put my Evo on diagnostic from time to time... that's why I keep away from the AOSP roms. No EPST no diagnostic etc.

Deck's is aosp so epst shouldn't work on it I'd think.
That is correct, decks as well as all AOSP roms do not have EPST, I nandroid back up my rom and load a nandroid of stock rom if needed to go into dialer menu's.

However just to get diag mode and a com port for cdma ws or qpst that can be done using adb shell.

Just open adb shell then at the

# just put in echo 1 > /sys/devices/virtual/usb_composite/diag/enable
so it would look like
#echo 1 > /sys/devices/virtual/usb_composite/diag/enable
Then to disable again just do
#echo 0 > /sys/devices/virtual/usb_composite/diag/enable
Or reboot the phone

Sorry for the off topic comment below, just honestly curious is all.

This has to be done hooked up to a PC correct I mean you can't run ADB shell on the phone or through a terminal emulator or can you?

You can run it through terminal emulator by your question I'm assuming you don't have comfort with adb
