Root Evo 4G to Boost Mobile Guide/Evo 3D

Do the meid of the donor and of your target phone match? Usually if you cannot get voice then that's the problem. The MEIDs dont match or the MDN/MSID are wrong.

your evo 4g would probably be the easier donor to pull the info from, I do not know what the original phone was but I can tell you the evo info is easy to pull.
kolosus his 4g was water damaged several things, like mic, wifi (i think) and bluetooth do not work, but it still makes calls and gets 3g data.

I have LGNPST my first android was an Optimus M:D
That program is very simple to use if you have what you need, the problem I had with the rumor reflex was finding the correct dll to allow it to be recognized, my understanding is with that you can then use LGNPST to unlock and read the nv

I had trouble with the lg rumor reflex also. First off I would like to thank all the devs from here, XDA, and CDMA GURUS for all thier educational guides. With this basic information I was able to teach myself even further. Thankyou!

With the lg rumor reflex, there is no .dll file for it at this time. Its too new I guess or no one has hunted it down yet. What I did to be able to read the nv items and nam files in cdma ws, downloaded .dll for rumor 2 which is LX265. After registering it etc, when in lgnpst I had to load the .dll LX265. hit phone settings, let it load. Then at bottom left corner hit read. Let it finish. Phone will say servie required, just ignore that. read your nv items and nam files in cdma workshop. Then unplug phone reboot and everything is back to normal. This is a temporary unlock flueq I was able to do and get the files off of the phone. Just giving back.

ok so i dont know if this was something i should of done but it worked. when i was zeroing out the esn and meid with esf explorer and zeroed out file 0 and 1943. well i just wrote the donor phone esn and meid to the 0 and 1943 and put them back to the target phone and now it works right now the phone it off donor phone dont work.so befor i get all happy is this good or bad ?

Don't know if this has been posted before or not so sorry if i'm repeating this but if your looking for the NV locations of your ESN/MEiD just dump NV items from CDMA Workshop open that file in a text editor and search for ESN/MEiD(Have to put the numbers sorta backwards ex. MEiD is A000002556 search for 56 25 00 00 A0) it will find wherever these are stored in the text document. Just write down the NV item # then open QPST EFS Explorer create a folder called [open sesame door] restart phone then in EFS Explorer go to nvm folder and save the file that has the same number as the NV item and edit with a hex editor.

Easier way is to just use the open sesame door then pull the 0 and 1943 file out of the phone and edit them then copy them back into the phone.

The seek is a 1xRTT phone. Reading it is not a problem. An android with such abysmal speed is depressing.

Really it said 3g..... Forget that then.... Thanks
It actually has a 3g capable quallcom chip in it. But Boost, in its infinite wisdom, decided that it should be locked into 1x speeds.

You can look it up here.
Samsung Seek Specs, Features (Phone Scoop)

Look under Data & Network. Using the Seek you cannot achieve 3g speeds. I'm sitting on two of them. I thought I may be able to get 3g using the same method that 1x donors can give 3g speeds on Verizon prepaid. It works on Verizon... but it doesn't on Boost/Sprint. Ah well.

If you want to downgrade to change the meid there is no need to do so.

The method to change the meid on the evo 3d is very easy and works on the 4g.

Look in the guide after the 4g method is the evo 3d look specifically to item 6.

This is the step I'm currently at, but it's asking for to enter the SPC for the EVO 4G, and I don't have a step previously where I got that, as it's the first step using the EVO and not the donor.

Where do I come up with the SPC for the EVO 4G? The rest looks fairly easy...

Round 6: You need to dial ##3424# (DIAG Mode) you should now have a COM port listed under you device manager settings. Next we need to find your SPC code for the Evo 4G, but this is alot easier! Open CDMA Workshop, I suppose you already opened the "Device Manager" and know the COM port for your Evo, select the COM port -connect- read and your should see your phone information on the left. Now go to the

I managed to get that to work.. and it seems I'm right at the end.

I have found all the esn's for my baseband, as that has resolved all 0000's via the ##786 check. My problem now is MEID locations for my 2.15.00.12.19 baseband. Doesn't seem like that's info that is ready to come by as the guide locations are for .11.19

Sucks being this close and yet, so far away.

what a royal pain in the a*%. I used a number of scans to pull all the MEID and ESN locations, zero'd them and wrote to phone, and yet it still shows the old MEID in the phone after uploading the new info.

##786# shows this

ESN(Hex)
00000000
MEID(Hex)
A10000136XXXXX (old esn.. wtf?)

the 3G light comes on, but it still has the old phone MEID Hex listed and 00000000 for ESN..

so incredibly frustrating.

I know new optimus has mentioned the open sesame door trick a bunch of times. Use that. Zeroing out the locations is a pain. The first post should have what you need. If you can't find it there (after looking harder) Google is your friend.

I'm currently trying that again from another computer, as the XP system wouldn't allow me to drag them to the desktop (ever heard of this?).

I'll see if the lappy can make it happen, as it seems a ton easier than what I've tried so far.

yeah, so windows 7 won't accept drivers and the xp box won't let me drag the files from efs explorer to the desktop.

pretty much stuck at this point.

heh, I just don't get it. everything and everyone points to 'just drag file 0 to your desktop', yet I can't drag/copy/move/anything to the files shown in /num.

I've tried two windows logins with two separate installs of with no difference. anyone run into this before?

*EDIT* I got it! turns out you can't use the open sesame method with QPST build 355, it NEEDS to be build 366!

hopefully on the the end here! wish me luck!
