Accessories EVO car dock now available?

Just called sprint corporate sales and had them look up the product... KPH6786Q, she could not find it in the system at all.

Did you order it from a corporate store or an affiliate?
 
Odd corporate knows nothing about the product, but affiliate have access to ship it? Thanks much, I called your Washington store and placed an order.
 
I just called the Sullivan Rd. store in Spokane and she said "let me guess, you're calling about the Evo dock". She was SUPER helpful and it took me a whole 3mins to place my order. She said keep them coming. And I quote "I guess we're the only ones that aren't too lazy to look this up". Ha. Thx for the post. Been waiting for this thing.
 
Can someone please please write a review of the dock. I wonder if it is worth it to get and how it integrates with the phone. Thanks!

i just ran over there a few minutes ago,she said their phone is ringing off the
hook,they had all the phone lines tied up taking orders. So if you're trying to get through and its busy just be patient.

well when you start making calls and NO ONE knows wtf i'm talking about...kinda hard to believe someone else when previously there was no evidence that what they were saying was true.

lots of people like to come around the androidforums and spout false statements. happens all the time.

ps. who said senior members know everything? because i certainly don't remember saying that :confused:

From looking at it in person and comparing to the HD2 version, have you been able to notice any slight differences that make it more ideal for the EVO? I know there's someone on this forum that bought the HD2 version and modified it to fit the EVO, but I'm wondering what they changed to make it fit better (if they even changed it at all).

Nontheless, no need to thank me. If not for you, I'd be waiting and waiting until an official "announcement" was made about the dock being available. Now I'm wondering when the HDMI dock will be available because I want that too!...ROFLMAO. If you make your way back to that branch, would you mind asking?

I kept saying the same thing about the stores in L.A. I literally called 6 stores within 10 miles of my house and every single one wasn't even willing to look up the sku for me. Maybe I would've had a different result in person, but no way I was about to drive around town to place the order...LOL.

one store told me they couldn't even look things up by sku. apparently some sprint employees have no brain. it became frustrating calling around looking for something that i wasn't sure was even available and telling them "i read on a forum that it's available now and someone has it already shipping to them" only so they could reply "well i'm sorry, this isn't showing up in our system" argh
 
hmm guessing i can't use this with my extended battery and cover... shucks. I guess I'll be sticking to my $10 generic dock. good find OP!

hmm i wonder if this even works with cases.
 
OK, so what connections does this have to connect it to your car? Does it have an Aux out? A charging port?

Yeah, I got the same response from Sprint telesales and from 1/6 stores I called...LOL.

What's mind boggling to me is why this single store, randomly in Spokane, WA has absolutely no problem looking up the SKU and setting up orders, when ALL these other stores around the country can't. I'm sure that store in Spokane is going to rack up a good amount of sales from dabigcheezze's post.

I'd venture to say that they should give dabigcheezze some sort of "reward" or "bonus" for turning people's attention to their particular store.

To a certain extent, this dock is like any other dock, but the MAIN difference is that when you have the phone in the dock, the charger connects through the base of the dock (not the phone). There's a micro USB connector on the dock (where the phone is being held) and I'm sure some internal electronics that lead to the port on the base of the dock. The benefit of this is when you dock your phone, no matter which way you turn it, it won't have any affect on where the charger is connected (so the charging chord never moves).

As far as AUX out, I'd imagine you'd still use the 3.5mm headphone port to connect to AUX inputs on a car stereo, etc...
