Root EVO lost root, 4G and wifi

im using a pc with windows 7, i didnt touch anything in the folder i just downloaded and put it on my SD card

yep no folders and select" install zip from sd card" find the file and select it.
I installed the zip file with no problem, i got root control back. But i still have the problem with the wifi and 4g connecting and then disconnecting right away. Also barnacle wifi tethering it says it cant connect to NAT. Then it goes on to say NAT restart network unreadable, and wireless tether says its unable to start.

Well, I think that if your wifi isn't working, then wifi tether would also not work.

I could be wrong, but that makes sense to me.

I'd wipe and re-flash the rom, but that's my solution to everything. :)

well i used unrevoked3 so i have not clue what rom i wld need to re-flash

ok are you at home when trying to use wifi? if so then try and unplug the router wait 30 secs then plug it back in and see if that helps. as far as 4g goes, you can always try and flash the radio combo that inlcudes the new wimax radio. just flash it like you flashed the 4.24 stock ota rom. except that there is no need to wipe.

Ok thanks, i was thinking that it could be the radio as well because the 4g cant connect and since the wifi is also using the radio, so i download EVO_Radio_2.15.00.05.02 is this the one for me? and it said its the latest but im not sure

before you flash a radio, download the wimax rsa key checker from the market and check that your keys are intact first. after that then try the radio combo that has wimax included: EVO_Radio_2.15.00.05.02_WiMAX_27243_PRI_2.15_003.zip. just flash it like you would a rom.

you are good to go. the ota you flashed earlier has the current kernel for radio updates. each rom that you flash all comes with kernels (stock or custom). that warning is if you are not on a gingerbread rom like a froyo rom and you try to update your radios then you need to flash the ota kernel.

ok the wimax rsa key checker says "congratulations! your htc evo is rsa key is present" so ill flash it like i did the ota and i dont need to wipe it

ok so i'm still doing some research as i do not really use wifi tethereing all that much, and i have never had any issues with it connecting to my laptop. what device are you trying to tether? have you checked your router?

I still have the problem with the 4g and wifi with the phone the minute it starts looking for the connect it disconnects and stops working.

Well NAT allows you to use a private IP address (say 10.x.x.x) in the public world. It'll turn the 10.x.x.x into say 104.1.4.23 (so you can get outside of the private network)

So if that's not working, there is a problem. But it seems like it's a software issue ( I'm pretty sure NAT is almost always controlled via software)

With your wifi tether, you're talking about 3g tether right? Not trying to re-braodcast the house wifi or something like that are you?

If you've tried wiping cache, davlik cache, and possibly data (obviously, you'd lose data) I'd re-flash a rom after running the wipe all zip a couple of times.

yeah i would refash the roms but idk which ones to use since i used unrevoked i think im still on stock roms so how would i refash that?

ok so the stock rom that i linked is a custom rom albeit a stock rom. you can just re-flash that or try a different one if you are interested in trying out some of the roms that has sense 2.1 and sense 3.0 included. try mikg 2.2 or the synergy rom, or just re-flash the stock rom. they are all listed in the rom/kernel sticky at the top of the forum.
