Root Evo Port Test ROMs | Droid Incredible

Alright...I got an issue... my phone is going between "HTC quitely brilliant" screen and "DROID" ...and wont boot... what did I do? :D

Nothing. Go back to clockwork and nandroid. I'm not sure what happened, but test 5 blew up on me. It worked once, then stopped.

usb debugging is enabled, so you can use adb to get into recovery during these boot loops:

adb reboot recovery

Sorry about that.

First Boot takes a long time. Wait or just do a nandroid restore

Oh, I know that...but this one, is it keeps going back and forth from one screen to another ...would go HTC quietly brilliant > Droid > HTC quietly brilliant > Droid > HTC quietly brilliant > Droid > HTC quietly brilliant > Droid > and so on????

I am rewiping and reflashing. Which radio are you guys using? I am on 2.0.

Lol, ok...I just reflashed and booting up...so will see if it does same...That constant "DROID" "DROID" "DROID" and so on scared me :D

Ok, might have figured out the boot loops. Might not be a rom issue.

Or maybe it is. Dang...

Sorry folks. Back to the drawing board. I think I know what it is, but I am too tired to mess with it right now. So test 4 is where I will leave ya.

Adrynalyne,

Is it possible to alter the acceleration sensitivity of the optical track pad?

Meaning, when I am editing text in a SMS, I notice that the cursor will accelerate based on how fast I move my finger across the track pad.

I'd rather it did NOT accelerate.

Is that possible?

Also, will optical trackpad wake work on this port?

Thanks so much for your work, man. You're an animal and happy belated!

Since this is still all evo framework, the TV-out probably still won't work. :(

Kind of a deal breaker for me since I watch movies at my gf's all the time on my phone. I'll give 5 a shot though and see if I can't get it working if it's not already.

The last update I saw on the Wireless Tether was that he had an EVO test build that would broadcast the SSID, however no IPs were being issued.

I should have updated on this earlier, but for some reason, I have a hard time finding threads in this section of the forum.

New update. I just installed http://android-wifi-tether.googlecode.com/files/wireless_tether_2_0_5-pre7.apk and am currently posting this while tethered in AP mode with WPA encryption. Looks like it is working. Appears limited to only 2 concurrent connections though.

Necosino- Do you notice a slight lag with the audio using the TV out cable? Out of sync during dialog always got on my nerves, so I don't use it as much as I would have liked. I tried various bit rates and did not make a difference.

I notice a pretty big slow-down when using tv-out. I don't play games or anything like that due to this slow-down, but for showing off / movies, it's perfect. Audio never goes out of sync. I'm using the beta divX player.

slightly OT - but that new wireless tether update works on my Incredible with the leaked FroYo in AP mode! :D yay!

now if the EVO framework would just stop the boot loops - I'll try that next!

Thanks for all the hard work!

More info on the Wireless Tether: 2.0.5-pre7 does not need the fw_bcm4329.bin file in the android.tether folder on the sdcard. It will work without it and use the ROM's own bcm4329 module from /etc/firmware (at least with the HTC based 2.2 roms).

*Edit* I flashed back to the INC 2.2 leak2 to verify that it also works without the bcm4329 module on sdcard.

If someone could let me know whether or not tv-out is working on this one before I get home, I'd be grateful. :)

5.2 may require a wipe. Just an FYI.

oh i know. sitting at 2.1 ota leak now. trying to decide if i am going to do this. got scared when they started to say dont wipe your phone on 2.1 cuz it may kill your 3g forever.

are the notifications still iffy in this as in does it ring only sometimes?

I've not had enough calls to test it, but I don't think there is a ring issue. Would love it if you are willing to test that :D

I'm currently running the 2.2 leaked OTA for my Incredible - can I just flash this over top? I've already run a titanium backup on my apps and data.

yeah yeah yeah im backing up now... installing this in 5 after i wipe the phone.

unless you think there is a reason to not chose factory reset with the thought of maybe losing 3g
