Root Evo Port Test ROMs | Droid Incredible

I am not too sure what there is to perfect. The 4g settings stuff is annoying but to be honest, I can learn to dismiss it. What can you realistically improve on is the question.
 
I've been on the fence about rooting my Dinc...until I started reading about Adrynalyne's ROMs (& ports). After reading about this EVO port, I'm almost sold. The only thing that's holding me back so far is corfirmation that all the apps/features I love (and in my head, need) work on this port.

Greatchief already mentioned some that work (MMS, GPS, Gmail, Wifi), which is greatly appreciated! But I'm wondering if anyone has tested the following (on either the EVO port OR the 2nd leak), and can confirm that they do/do not work:
- Bluetooth (specifically for the Wiimote app)
- LauncherPro Plus
- Beautiful Widgets 3.0
- Pure Grid Calendar Widget
- Skype (normally wouldn't care, except my sister was deployed to Qatar)
- SwitchPro Widget
- Pandora
- Camcorder

I know this is a long list, but I just want to make sure I have as much information as possible before taking the leap.

Well, tbh, if I can get rid og the 4g stuff, I would call it good. Not entirely sure I can though. I've tried a couple times and ended up with a no booter.
 
Well I tried the TV out (one of the few suckers that paid $30 for it) and it does not work. Darn, I was hoping for better resolution lol. Any way, can you bake the HTC TV out 1.0 APK into this?

This is not a deal killer yet but will be once I get my Roku box (netflix) to stream through the sling player or Netflix finally wakes up and develops an app.

So far, this the only thing lacking I have noticed. Runs very smooth.

Actually, that is the Dinc TV_Out apk files. I will have to look closer at that. Something in the framework or settings must also be messing with it.

I can confirm that LauncherPro Plus (love the new Sense calendar widget), beautiful widgets 3.0, pure grid calendar widget, SwitchPro Widget, and the camcorder all work. I haven't yet tried Pandora, Skype or bluetooth for Wii Remote (but bluetooth works fine).

I switched from andryn's vanilla to this ROM. Both work very well, but I really like this one. I am averaging in the high 30s (38-39) for mflops and between 1200-1300 for quadrant.

As everyone else has reported, this is a very stable ROM. Would be nice to get rid of the Sprint stuff, but it hasn't really gotten in my way at all. I recommend that anyone on the fence try it. I plan to stick with it until we get the official froyo.

I know nothing about programming this stuff, but conceptually if you can modify the interface, maybe you could just hide them from view rather than remove?
 
really? I just loaded the 8/1 leak... even though you say you like the evo port better... I guess I'll have to set up the 8/1 leak and do a nandroid back up then do this... I feel like I own an omnia again lol.. only thing is I was happy with the stock phone this time around
 
I used pandora for a few hours today at the beach leak 2.2 ver1... sounded ok... I'm not sure what quality issues I am looking for though... streaming skips? low volume?
I'll let you know is it sounds different with leak 2 tomorrow ...
 
Pandora sounds like its streaming in a cave :D

Not sure if it was fixed in leak 2 or not.

I just transferred all of the evo's official ota drivers. Testing now to see if it boots :D
 
ok I'm rebooting the second leak now... I'll let you know how it sounds .. it was kind of "tinny" .. missing depth to the bass volume
 
I've been trying to take the settings files out of the leak and put it into this ROM to see if that would work.. it hasn't, lol.. Now I have to go to work, and then take a friend to the Dr.s', so I probably won't be able to play around much tonight, but I'll keep trying to get rid of the Sprint stuff too :)
 
Hate to be a pest, but could someone with one of adrynalyne's builds/ports test Skype (even if it's just downloading the app and trying to open it)? I just want to see if I can access it on one of these builds so I can still use my phone to Skype with my sister, who is deployed.

I appreciate adrynalyne's hard work, and everyone else's testing so far. I think I'm ready to make the switch and finally root my Dinc!

I see no reason why Skype wouldn't work. I'm in Canada atm so I have data off, but I'll try tonight if nobody else has.

In return, could someone pull the tvout.apk and .odex off of another rom and adb push them to /system/apps to see if we can get TV-out working?
