I got the Evo 2 days ago and it's kind of a piece. all kinds of problems. never wants to connect and download from the market on 3g. phone is slow as hell in browser very laggy. The numbers to dial a call are laggy, the camera is laggy.

So what award did this phone win? I miss my Jailbroken iPhone 3GS, it was fast and never laggy and simple.

I have to say, I have had my EVO for about a month and have had no such problems. I will admit, my only real issue has been the battery life, and I mostly blame Sprint's bloatware for that.

You might want to just return it and have it replaced, you may have gotten a bad phone. I know three others with this phone and have not heard these complaints.

Definitely sounds like a bad apple. Even stock I had none of those issues. Compared side by side the only phones that have been able to keep up are new samsungs...rooted.

Is your 4g on?

The way you describe it, sounds like you got something odd.
Was it this evo:

Or this "evo":

Yeah, cause that other "evo" is an heroic piece of...piece.

I think I know what the problem is.... hit up Walmart, not sure what isle it is but they're called "pearl" for heavy flow or something like that. That will fix u right up. Lol.

Your the first person I know coming from the iphone (such as myself) that misses the iphone. You could have a bad phone like everyone else said, its possible. However, if you have issues or questions or you feel like you have limits, this forum is here to answer your questions.

I suggest you wipe your phone back to factory defaults and start over. Use the phone with the most basic apps that come with the phone, then see how it performs.

If it performs ok, then add apps one by one, giving a couple of days use in between adding more to ensure that you don't have a phone issue that is related to an app.

What you never heard of the Island of Walmart? LOL It is in the Carribbean and is one huge store that contains all those people that you see going around email chains that show funny pictures of how people dress and look at Walmart.

it was funny but he spelled aisle wrong. lol.

I switched from an iphone 3gs to the Evo 4 and am never going back! It seemed my old phone got worse and worse with every OS update. Was considering upgrading to the iphone 4 but seems most the press I was reading on it was pretty bad while I kept reading rave reviews on the Evo, and now I see why!

When I first got my Evo it had all sorts of problems. It wouldn't even let me update the phone to Froyo. The phone was laggy(didn't really notice because it was the fastest phone I've ever owned) and overall the experience was lousy. After taking a couple of hours out oy my day my Evo is now perfect. I think some Evos may have shipped with buggy software because on the stock software I couldn't do anything. Couldn't even update to 2.2. Once rooted and a new rom installed the phone was flying.

This phone requires a bit more knoweldge of electronic devices. You should probably switch back to the apple to stay in step with your limited knowledge set.

MY EVO RULES! The only issue WAS battery life. I have since conquered that limitation.
