my cousin's EVO won't connect to his laptop. the laptop doesn't recognize it even though it has the drivers for it. I tried my phone and it recognizes it instantly.
is it rooted? have you checked the usb debugging settings? when you plug it in, does it charge? and lastly, in the notification bar, does it give you an option to view as usb device?
It's not rooted. Its on 2.3.5 and i have rebooted the laptop many times. When i connect to the laptop the computer doesnt act like anything's been connected and the phone acts like it has been plugged into a wall charger.
IF not go into device manager and unistall the device then go to actions menu and click check for hardware changes you will have to reboot but it may help Who knows windows is so picky. If that does not work then get a Linux Live CD boot into that and then hook phone up and see if it can mount in linux if so then its definately a windows issue. If not then its probably either A) a kernel issue or b) a cable issue (which if yours works hmm) c) a hardware issue (bad cable port)
