EVO3D and Sense UI 3.0

BlueScreen

Well-Known Member
Most already knew EVO 3D is being built on Sense 3.0 platform. HTC announced that Sense 3.0 will be limited to EVO 3D, Sensation, and Flyer. HTC has not announced that EVO 3D will include special over lay not included on any device accept for EVO 3D. Unless HTC creates a new 3D phone don't expect this to change anytime in the future.

Sense weather and HTC Watch. Sense weather will include special 3D effects on EVO 3D and be able to display on a appropriate 3DTV as well. HTC Watch is a pay per view streaming movie channel. I understand that it will include 3D streams only available to EVO 3D handsets. Netflix has not been able to commit, so we have have taken the initiative on our own to provide streaming movie channel.

We already know these things! HTC has video's of the 3D and Sensation out now, do you have additional info we don't know!? Or are you letting us know what we already know about sense as a reminder?

There will be animation specific to EVO3D. 3D animations will include weather, clock, and HTC media hub. EVO 3D can tilt in landscape, while flyer can tilt landscape, EVO 3D is the only mobile device that can tilt in landscape. EVO 3D will be able to watch 3D content from HTC Watch and stream 3D content to 3DTV.

What do you mean by tilt in landscape!?

EVO 3D will launch with the same ability of most slates. EVO 3D will be different from Sensation and share more of Flyers qualities. EVO 3D is built on the ability to rest on a kickstand. EVO 3D at launch will be introduced in landscape mode.

Just to point out in all the videos I have seen of hands on, While the Sense Weather Animations are more detailed and "prettier" it was specifically stated that they are not 3D in so far as popping off the screen like a 3d movie would. Also HTC watch has only been confirmed for the Worldwide GSM version of the Evo 3d, the Sensation, and the Flyer. Now it does make perfect sense that Sprint's Evo 3d will come with HTC Watch but nothing has been said about it that I know of.

There is no world GSM version of the Evo 3D, it's just a CDMA version right now! The closes thing (Spec wise) the the Evo 3D is the Sensation which is GSM but it has no 3D...

Look at each network

Only one has Dual Band (aka World phone) the the other two respectively has GSM and CDMA

Really? Look at the Worldwide site
HTC - Products - HTC EVO 3D ? Overview

While this is not definitive proof of a GSM version (which is what I meant by the worldwide comment, I misspoke) US carriers phones are never ever on the worldwide site. Yes the specs are not posted but do some searches and read between the lines.

The news about Sense 3.0 not working on older devices was tweeted from HTC this morning, so it appears to be true. Although, the Sensation test ROM already leaked, as well as a Gingerbread Rom for the OG Evo, so we'll see how true that is when some of the custom rom guys work with it for a bit.

This confused me too. I finally figured it out. He means that the launcher will rotate into landscape mode. Tablets are optimized for landscape use, and he's saying that the Evo 3D will also be optimized for landscape use.

While I think it's great that Sense will finally support a rotating launcher, I think portrait mode is used much more on a phone than a tablet. That said, the Evo 3D is more media-based, which is more landscape-oriented.

3D will only work in landscape mode, for example. This explains why the charge port is on the side (bottom if you consider that the device was designed more for landscape use).

Thank you for the announcement that HTC will incorporate certain 3D elements into one of it's flagship phones developed specifically for 3D.

Truly, your information is groundbreaking.

I'm surprised you did not predict that the Nintendo 3DS would, in fact, be capable of playing 3D games. That would have been as equally shocking.

This pretty much made my day

Being this pathological is unhealthy. For your own good, just stop

I hope he's right about the launcher working in landscape. I've always wanted that from Sense and had to use Launcher Pro+.

i have myn's warm Z ROM... out several months ago...port from Desire Z.
Froyo with Sense 2. it goes into landscape as I turn the phone... either direction. does not do upside down.

how can the new 2.3 leak be only sense 1.0???
i am sure by the time it is officially released it will have sense 2.0 or partial 3.0

Oh good, cause I plan to get Warm Z after i get my power button fixed.

I thought the only 3D aspect of the Evo 3D was photos and videos? Otherwise everything runs in 2D. I hope so, I don't want to find myself constantly looking for the sweetspot to read the screen properly!

You are correct. Sense itself has been given some newer features but it is not in 3d. Only 3d content will "float" off the screen.

Sense 3.0 has features that I haven't seen anybody talk about! Preview you drive; I think the difference in this one, as you move along it stay on course with the route. Whereas on the current GPS you move around and have to follow the blue course route yoursself. Flip to silence; which is old actually...that was first introduced with the Touch Pro II (If I'm not mistaken). Map with compass; I guess you now know which way your going at all times! Zero wait map; don't have to wait on the map to load up. Catch all calls; when the phone is in your pocket, purse or bag it will ring louder to notify you, and when you remove it from these area's it will go back to the normal ringtone volume. Never miss a turn; When you driving and using your GPS and your receive a call, it will now do both and the caller will pop underneath the GPS and now answer and still get direction! Some of these feature are older and for specific devices, now I'm assuming HTC is making these standard across the board!
