EVP Delivery Dates

Ditto, my company joined the EVP program specifically for the EVO......

now i'm left with the decision..do i keep my EVO Order w/EVP..or do I cancel & chance it w/a sprint corp store tomorrow?

Guess i'm not going to a sprint corp store..called the one out by me (Crystal lake,IL) and was told its a first come first serve basis, with the store opening up at 8am..but she'd heard rumors of people starting to lineup at 6am...guess waiting for EVP is still gunna be my best bet.

Just got confirmation that they won't ship out until tomorrow from my rep too. Order cancelled, Sprint store bright and early for me tomorrow.

EVP ordered canceled. Going to the corporate Sprint store in the morning. No sense in paying $12 (overnighted shipping) and a $36 activation charge if I am not getting early.

Is there an activation charge on EVP orders? I didnt think there was. Guess I was misinformed.

Somebody at ppcgeeks made a great point. The EVP Evo's are suppose to be shipping from the sprint warehouse, which I'm sure are already stocked with Evo's. EVP is waiting for the green light from Sprint to place the orders to ship from the Sprint warehouse.

Since Sprint isn't actually sending EVP the phones and then EVP ships, I'm sure Sprint isn't going to give the green light until tomorrow since it'll be coming directly from Sprint warehouses. With that being said, I'm sure Sprint is going to wait till tomorrow to give EVP the green light to ship, and when Sprint does give the go ahead. I've never received a phone from Sprint on a Saturday.

We all know for a FACT that EVP will ship tomorrow, but we didn't know about Saturday shipping. But since the phones are coming from Sprint directly but placed through EVP, then we won't get them on Saturday at all. We'll have to wait till Monday, this is also the reason why EVP doesn't have anything in their system that says saturday delivery and they arent even sure about Saturday delivery. It's because they are using Sprints shipping system to place the order.
What troubles me is at this point ordering from EVP is as if I placed an order from sprint.com as I suspect the EVO to be available from them tomorrow. In fact I got an email from them concerning this. I made the wrong assumption that they would be loaded in the system prior to Friday so retailers could place orders early and Sprint put a constraint on the shipping dates. Like I said before, Netflix allows shipping a day early and everyone gets the product the same time, those who order online and those who shop in-store.

From EVP, cant really fault them besides the garbage "sometimes we recieve the phones a day or two earlier"

[FONT=&quot]We offer preorders to all EVP clients, as the stores and third party retailers (RadioShack, BestBuy, etc) tend to receive very limited quantities of new devices and sell out very quickly. While this is certainly convenient for the few that may obtain the EVO on launch date – not all will have the opportunity to do so. Since we have access to thousands of new devices through the central warehouse, we are guaranteed not to “sell out”, providing the chance for all EVP customers to receive the device in a timely manner without hassle. [FONT=&quot]Obviously, I cannot guarantee that you will have the phone in your hands Saturday morning. I can only apologize and offer the option to cancel your preorder if you wish to hopefully obtain the device locally tomorrow. Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

Yes but if you order from sprint online tomorrow you get FREE overnight shipping and activation, so you'd still have it on Monday and it would be cheaper. The way I see it, there is absolutely no advantage to go through evp.

Exactly....!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is like placing an order from sprint.com. I also thought they would get them early and would ship early. However this was not the case with the Evo. EVP has in the past been able to do this, but I guess Sprint double made sure nobody got shipped an Evo early. I unfortunately cancelled my order with EVP after calling a sprint store.

Its first come first serv, but I verified with them over the phone that I could purchase two with the rebate and have one billed to my account. Which is what I had EVP do. I hate this, because I really wanted things to work out with EVP. But to pay for overnight shipping and get it 3days after everybody else doesn't make sense. Plus there was an activation fee as well.

That's weird cause I just called Sprint to ask the difference from ordering from a third party store or from a corporate store and I was told the only difference is they can sell other phones besides just Sprint. But mine says Sprint on there big sign and Sprint is all they carry. I asked about billing to my account and was told yes I could. I had already called the store to see about how many phone they were getting in and when they were opening and I was just told get here early were opening at 8:00. But the cutomer care rep told me earlier if I don't get it on Sat they will credit my 12 bucks and the rep I just spoke with asking about third party stores said I was eligible for a one time 50 dollar credit to resign so I said ok. So I sold my TP2 for 150 now am getting 50 credit from Sprint. But anyway I am afraid to cancel just yet. Gonna wait and see what happens tomorrow.

Non-corporate stores are not owned by Sprint and can't charge a phone to your account, you would have to pay for it upfront.

So I called a couple of BBs, both said no more pre-orders, and they don't expect to have any left after the existing pre-orders are dished out. I could, however, pre-order for the next batch but that's a week away. I guess I'm going out early tomorrow to hunt a pair down. I'm not going to cancel my EVP order until I find some though, even if it means they ship and their phones arrive on Monday after I have some from elsewhere, I will just ship them right back.

Just spoke with Lisa and canceled my 2 pre-ordered Evo's. She confirmed they will ship tomorrow (Friday) and even with overnight, delivery is for Monday.

On a side note, she seemed annoyed that I was canceling. I'm sure a lot of people are doing the same with the enlightenment that their orders would not be received on time.

I'll be heading to my local Sprint store tomorrow morning when they open up trying my luck there!

Andrew Hauke sure picked the right week to vacation..wonder if he knew something.

Sprint does not do overnight shipping with phones. I spoke with a specialist yesterday. But the free activation is worth it.

hahah! I don't think it was like that. I don't know him, but he seemed like an awesome guy and worked hard to get our orders taken care of. Besides I'm sure theres no way EVP would let any of their employees take vacation on one of Sprint's biggest weeks. He said he had his time in way before the release date was announced and I'm sure EVP even wanted to cancel his vacation so there would be all hands on deck. lol

Well they certainly screwed this one up, not a good way to make the customers that have been waiting for this phone forever happy. This will definitely be my last dealing with evp.

ditto. Went from possibly getting the phone early to not having the phone until monday with overnight shipping (smh). At worse, i was expecting to have the phone friday or saturday. Not a good customer experience at all....If i didnt have to go into work tomorrow from 6 am to 245...id probably be camping also. Instead, im stuck waiting another weekend.

Hahaha, Lisa is not too happy with me either, she was super pissy yesterday and I'm sure today is worse, oh well, I guess they should give out more accurate information from the beginning and they wouldn't have all of these cancellations on their hands. On a lighter note, I just spoke with my corporate store and they said they have no list, 28 phones on hand right now and might get more in later today and they are opening at 8. He told me to make sure I'm there at 8 because they'll go fast, I'll probably be there at 5, I WILL be the first one in line :D

EVP should really have been more upfront, regardless of when the phones hit their inventory, about overnight shipping *not* including Saturday delivery. It seems every rep was giving a different story about you may/may not get it on Saturday..depends on your UPS delivery zone/blah blah..when, it seems like Saturday delivery isn't even an option for anybody with EVP.

I paid $12 extra for overnight shipping..and even though it most likely wont be delivered to me on Saturday since I doubt EVP specified it, UPS will still move the package on Saturday to my local distro center for delivery on Monday. so, i could of saved the $12 on overnight..had it sent ground...and would still receive it on Monday.

hmmm wonder if its the same Lisa i deal with via email.

Anyway, I emailed her just now to cancel the order. I hope it gets cancelled. I haven't received a reply back yet. Anyway, Its funny, but at the same time I was writing the cancellation email notice, I get a call from the Radio Shack that I pre-ordered from and was told to come in at 7AM for my appt to pick up the EVO. last week, they tell me no appt are necessary and we won't open up early and now they say yeah you have an appt at 7AM and we open at 6AM. woohoo. I'm getting my EVO, I'm getting my EVO lol

As for EVP, I am not faulting them either for the delay in shipping, its not their fault that Sprint has been Big Brother in all of this and making sure no one gets to ship/sell any phone until they say so.

TS out

Poor EVP...I can almost visualize their pre-order ticker going from '1400' to '40'....so much for that supposed extra staff they have working all night to process the pre-orders...guess their gunna be bored tonight!

Well they might not call it overnight but I can tell you that I ordered a phone on Saturday April 17th and had it Monday the 19th so that's as close to overnight as you're going to get if you ask me, maybe I'm just really close to where they ship from but it's still better than paying $12 dollars for overnight that is really 3day shipping from evp.;)
