extended battery?

In the same boat as the low battery users. I use text mostly and with active use I get maybe 6 hours. I've not even had the phone a month.
Probably should just get a new battery. I force close apps, tried battery savers, I cut everything off still nothing is working. I think maybe I didn't charge it right when I first got it. With all my other phones I let it die and then do a full charge with no use. I didn't do that this time. I didn't have much of an option.

I too do that, seems to make a difference but before you determine the battery is bad try what I have done.

I'd love to that but I am trying to not root the phone. If something happens I don't have the money to get a new one. I know most don't have issues but I don't really understand the whole rooting thing.
I dont have money to get a new one either, the key is to follow the footsteps of the people that have done it. In this case all the leg work has been done, should not be anything to mess up.

If you have questions or concerns ask and someone should have an answer.
This phone is so much better when it is modified to get rid of the junk that slows it down.
And if you do have trouble you can return it to stock and if needed take it back to get a replacement, if a hardware defect is found.

N00b's first post here, and this is a topic I'm interested in. I have been looking into this issue since a day at work has me almost dead by the end of the day. I've seen the Mugen 1800mAh battery for 50 bucks, and stock 1500mAh batteries for about 10. I can't see paying all that for a mere 300mAh. What I am considering is getting 2 x 1500 stock batteries and hacking them together into a 3000mAh battery. I'll need to make a custom battery door for this though. Does anyone know where to get those?

I'm also concerned about the current caring capabilities of the charging circuit. 2 batteries will double the draw from dead and though most USB ports are limited to 500mA, a lot of dedicated chargers can push an amp or more. if the mainboard can survive that much juice then there's not much problem, but I'd hate to fry a phone without at least investigating. Does anyone know of a place HW hackers can find schematics and assembly prints on the Prevail?

Turn your screen down as much as possible and run an app killer and turn of wireless and gps unless needed. I get a day of use with mine no prob , with moderate use. Battery life is much better than my old samsung galaxy s was.

i got a app called autostarts it will help you out big time with battery life and performance i get a full day with moderate -heavy use its great.
basically its just like your pc startup menu you can allow or deny start up but they will still work when you click on them.

maybe try a usb 3.0 it is much better at charging .

Hey guys,
I just registered in this forum to see that how much people actually suffering for sgs2 battery life. From the beginning, when I started using S2, I was in real trouble of it's battery performance. I changed 5 batteries with various mAh but nothing found on those. The extender now in market is big and contained in a case, as a result my phone gets thick, which kill the smartness of SGS2.

Before 4 months ago, I was studying about physics and chemistry (as I'm a student of science) and after studying 2 months I decided to build a battery charger for SGS2 which will be connected with SGS2 for all time and will charge battery. I decided to make a same back cover like in SGS2 with alloy metal and also attached a few solar cells, thermal electron producer, and 6 flat LEDs and combined these all Electricity Generator in a compact circuit and used a jewel thief boost converter to Step up voltage for charging faster. It really working and now I'm in test run.

Actually I want the supply of 3.7v with 1000mAh supply, Because if I get this amount always from this over-unity circuit than We can always turn on or can use the Max performance all day long and the real truth is the phone will not required any charger to charge the battery anymore.

I'm very close to build this device. It's taking time because all electronics are not available in my country. I required 6 more electronic products and already ordered it to import for me and I'm sure that I will get that amount of electricity to feed my phone and also yours.

I was sick for 3 weeks and could not work. If I finally able to build that device, with efficient charging capacity, I will must back to you and will post the circuit designs and procedure and materials list. So that you guys can also build a feel free.

Thanks

I know I might be picky here, but an extra 300mAh from the stock 1500mAh is NOT worth paying $46 something odd dollars for! What a rip off. For that price you could buy 2 more Samsung OEM batteries as spares!

Ok, the following isn't a replacement battery but it might be of interest to some of you out there:

Amazon.com: GTMax Black 2 USB Port Compact External Portable Rechargeable Emergency Backup Battery Charger (5000mAh) - Includes USB Charging Cable + Interchangable Charging Tips + 1 Year Warranty - for Samsung Eternity II SGH-A597 / Gusto U360 / Flig

From the reviews most people can recharge their phones 3 times before having to charge the unit for use again, which is pretty darn good!

much better
