F3 on MetroPCS

Yes the rebates are for new line activations only. As an existing customer I paid the full $149 for mine a couple of weeks ago despite the posted rebates.
And Metro isn't alone in this practice, it's pretty common.

It's on my F3.

Whatitsname,

Could you tell me the exact full number version of your Android?

I'm wondering if mine is the same version or if it is something Virgin Mobile had removed because I don't get the "Move to SD card" button.

thanks,

I have the LG motion now. I'm happy with it, but I'm always looking at something new. So I'm thinking about the F3, because at $80 , well yeah. I like that the F3 is a little thinner. I like the NFC on it. But the much smaller internal memory might create real issues.

What do you say who switched from the motion to F3 think about this phone??

Sorry, I just return my phone. It is on Android version 4.1.2 is about all I can tell you about the phone.
It should be noted that I use a sd card that has an extra partition 2gb ext2 from my from my old phone on the f3. Maybe that's what it is picking up.

I made this switch as you can see from my posts in this thread. If you follow suit, you'll pay the same $149 as I did being an existing Metro customer.
I'm very happy with the F3, and for me at least the smaller memory hasn't been a huge problem. Even with the 5GB+ on the Motion I hadn't used much more than what the F3 can hold, and with Link2SD I'm able to stretch it out some more. Other than the memory, everything else about this phone is equal to or superior to the Motion.
Of course your requirements may differ, so if you require a lot of internal storage and you don't think Link2SD is the solution for you (maybe you don't want to root) then this may not be the phone for you. But that doesn't give you a lot of options in the same price range, especially if you want to go GSM. You're stuck with the S3 or S4 at a much higher cost.
You should also find out how good the T-Mobile network is in your area and anywhere else you may be using the phone before making the plunge. I knew going in that T-Mo has been building their LTE up in my general area.

Thank you. Yes, I collect apps so I'm tending away from a phone with only 1 GB. Slightly off topic, but as a comparable phone to a S4, Google dropped the price of a 8GB Nexus 4 to $199.

if i had a credit card and the money i would consider getting the Nexus 4... but im thinking this phone is fine because my LG connect s*cks! Besides the storage is there anything else bad about this phone?

The camera isn't great in low light. (Then again what camera is, besides iPhone and some WP8 phones?) But the pictures are fine in good lighting and there is hardly any shutter lag.

I've played around with quite a few Android phones before deciding on this one and I am happy as a clam with the F3. Great battery, replaceable battery, microSD slot, fast and snappy. Note -- I don't play games so I can't comment on gaming performance.

here is camera sample at not very much light

Battery in this device is just great, It can handle 4.5 hours of Internet browsing. Storage is a big con for some, but not for everyone. Not all of us have 100 apps and its not really made for gaming with such a tiny screen (from gaming perspective)

Hello.
Im new here, so im kind of lost. Where can i find a tutorial to root the F3 and remove all the metropcs apps?

Check All Root F3 Metropcs forum, it's like one of the first topic, just get Titanium BackUp and freeze the apps you do not need.

not sure if its been mentioned but our F3 has a task manager (like the google phones) if you long press the home button...

i just got mine today and didn't see this feature in the reviews on youtube.

couple of q's here for you guys.

1. does 4g use more battery than LTE? (It seems that when im on 4g the battery drains faster than when I'm on LTE, or does the phone waste more battery trying to get LTE)

2. How slow is 4G compared to LTE? (When im on 4G the speed is relatively slow)

Anyone know if the "Wifi Calling" pop-up dialog always appears when it first connects to a Wifi Network? If I press "learn more" it just goes through the tutorial which basically says nothing much to do, just make calls like usual. But it appears again when I disconnect & reconnect. This seems like it should be a one-time thing on a new phone, not appear EVERY time wifi connects. The T-Mobile version of the F3 doesn't have this bug. Only on the MetroPCS. Anyone else experience this or know a way to get rid of it? It is kinda annoying.

Have you actually set the wifi calling up? Mine is set up and working, and I don't get the dialog every time, just the notification that calls will be made on wifi.
If you're not planning to use it you should be able to go into settings and turn wifi calling off and not see the dialog.

I use a Talkatone & Google Voice for VoIP calls. I don't use it with a MetroPCS SIM so didn't setup with wifi calling originally, I just tried enabling it but gets "invalid SIM" error, then the wifi dialog doesn't pop up anymore. But if I reboot the phone, it's back.

UPDATE: I fixed it by disabling "IPService" in Settings - Apps - All. No more wifi dialogs even after rebooting.
