Yeah I agree with you on that. I wish there was a way to turn it off. It seems like an extra drain on the battery to load those pics every time you open it.

Yeah my battery seems to be draining rather quick since I opened it so I just checked my partial wake usage and noticed that Facebook was VERY high. I wonder if you actually have to log-out instead of just backing out of it to get it actually close?
 
Haven't had any FC's yet, it is showing as service in System panel, but its not showing up in my battery use as of yet, will keep an eye on it tho
 
hi this might not be the right place to post this..
but does anyone know why my incredible is syncing only certain contacts with facebook? i have it all set to do it automatically but for some reason it only happens on a select few. for example, some contact photos will magically change when my fb friend changes it on their profile without me prompting it and the only way i can get others to update is if i logout and then re-log in to fb which of course screws up all my contacts. so frustrating! any help would be much appreciated! thanks! :)
 
Just got the update, it is MUCH better now. Still not 100%, but a lot better than it was.

My only annoyance with the update is that it changed my homescreen icon back to the default one so I had to go set up my little android guy again.
 
uninstalled.. even without syncing with contacts this update did not allow my phone to sleep and kept it awake for more than 2 hours. phone awake time was at 100% and it was all caused by this updated facebook app.
 
Is it only me or does that main menu page not rotate. everything else does.
also notifications still open on the browser.. scrolling pics need to go... I do like the look of it and think the notification bar swiping is cool.

yep i did that and it finally worked. Syncing wasnt working anyway. HTC sync works fine still anyway

go to market search facebook, it should have an update for it

Reboot your phone. Happened to me too.

Anyone else having a problem with the app updating all contacts multiple times? It from went 53 to 106 to 159....it was odd. I turned if off and just let the htc account sync and use the facebook app lol.

yes its broke....i was up to 22xx contacts pretty damn quick

100% agree with you.

Also this makes me think of how much better the facebook app was on my Storm, it is like night and day. This is a joke compared to the BB version. Why is it so hard for them to make this app so much better than what it is now?

Yes, this new update prevents my phone from sleeping. For the first time ever, I have had to add an app to an auto-kill list in Task Manager. I'm more than a little annoyed.

well there's the problem. i did what you said, searched the marketplace for facebook. the facebook app shows up, but it does NOT show up as an update. when i press "install", that's when it says it will update the current app to version 1.3.0.
 
yup I had no notifications enabled and was not syncing contacts and it still kept phone awake. It was prettier, I'll give it that. I was kind of amped about the contacts sync on there, I would love to strip the Sense FB stuff out and just have it update my actual contacts on the phone.

Anyone else notice that when it leaves the App it redirects to the "Touch" site instead of the mobile site?

That's damn annoying too!!
