Fallout: New Vegas

I think i'm going to buy the Fallout 3 DLC before i get New Vegas.
I would if I were you. NV is a bit all over, there are one too many choices to make imo as to how you could finish the game. A week after completing FO3 and all the DLC I was wanting to play it all over again, but don't feel the same with NV, and stopped playing a few days ago because I'm a bit bored of it now.

Could you elaborate? I dont understand how MORE choices equals LESS replay value. I never played the FO3 DLC, but I have enjoyed both games so far.

It might give better replay value if there are more choices, but if the game bores you in the first place you're less inclined to replay it, and I'm at the stage where I am bored now.

I'm not finding NV to be boring but I'm definitely not as excited to play it, now that I'm about 5-10 hours into it. Maybe because there's too many similarities with FO3..not sure...but overall its a good game but not sure if its really any better.

I am enjoying it. I do find my desire to replay it waining by the hour, however. With god of war tomorrow and AC:B in a few weeks I can honestly see myself not finishing it for a long while.

I think had I not already played FO3 I might enjoy it a bit more. I still reminisce about my days at the Citidel lol.

I feel like there is a lot more walking in this one. Maybe its just me tho.. but there is tons and tons of nothingness open space.

yeah, i'm having a bit of a hard time sitting down to play this one as consitently as FO3. I keep losing interest lol

So for those of you that have played FO3 and NV.. would you suggest for a FO rookie to just skip FO3 altogether for NV?

Well, personally I would play FO3 first because you can learn quite well how to play the game. However, FO3 will give you a false sense of strength. The enemies in FO3 level up with you where the enemies in FO: NV don't. In other words, killing a super mutant in FO3 at level 2 is entirely possible because the super mutant would also be a level 2. However, killing a super mutant in FO: NV at level 2 is never going to happen (at least not easily) because the super mutant is going to be a much higher level than you (lets say level 15 for the sake of this example).

Besides, FO3 is a totally awesome game. If you want to play FO: NV first, go right ahead, but don't entirely skip FO3.

I would play FO3 first, since you can pick up the GOTY with all the dlc. Probably for less than New Vegas.

That should keep you busy for a good few weeks (or months ;) ).

Or 870 hours between two characters...

Wow, I can't believe I have time to play that much when I have a full time 40+ hours/week job, my own business, and am a 3/4 time student...

I would never be able to pull that off. I really only get to game once in a while (2 or 3 days a week tops). Work, fiancee and daughter kinda occupy all my time lol.

I have a girlfriend too, but she sits there and yells at me if I die and when I'm not "fighting right"... It's like I have my own personal video game trainer. LOL

Mine knows to keep her distance when I'm gaming (unless it's to bring me a snack or something to drink) lol.

I love it! How many girls in the WORLD would ever cuddle with you and get into your game? I'm gonna estimate about .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001%
