Fatality: 2019

Chip The Guinea Pig age 4 or something, passed of natural causes, chip was my daughter's pet Guinea Pig. Received a call from the wife informing of chips passing
Rest in peace little guy I will miss you:saddroid:
Oh, I'm sorry. Condolences to you and your family. :(

How is your daughter dealing with it? I can't recall how old she is--does she understand what death is?

Losing a family pet always leaves a void and one that's not easily dealt with by the young. I hope that your daughter is handling it alright. Tough stuff... I'm sorry.

Staying true to my nature, I'll tell a short and somewhat related story. When my first born was a wee little girl our pet parakeet passed away. It was the dead of winter and though I seriously attempted digging a grave for the bird the ground was frozen solid. With my nice overnight case as a casket, a short ceremony was performed and the bird was then reverently lowered into our dumpster. All for the benefit of our grieving daughter. A few months later the house at the end our street caught fire. Though quickly extinguished, the handicapped man that lived there died from smoke inhalation. My daughter over heard my wife and I discussing his upcoming funeral and she asked if they were going to throw Dan in the trash.

She's six, turns seven in January. She answers death is, we have had a couple of uncle's pass way over the last few years. We explained to her about life and how after life comes death which is like going to sleep and waking up with Jesus and the Angel's

So apparently my daughter was holding and petting chip, watching TV, discussing top secret plans with her trusty side kick:D
When he got really quite and stop moving. She first thought he was sleeping so she just sat holding him.
But when she went to put him back in cage, she knew someone was wrong. She ran to her mom who check on chip and tried to wake him up but to no avail.
Our daughter was a little upset because she thought she had did something. So the wife called me and explain to her that Guinea Pigs have very short life spans about 3-10 years.
After I spoke with her, my wife told me she was doing better

South Korean pop star, Sulli, has died at just 25 years old. She was found by her manager in her home.

The cause of death is under investigation. She had been "severely depressed," and a victim of cyberbullying. I think we can read between the lines...what a shame. :(

I simply don't get cyberbullying and why people kill themselves over it?, I am sorry the young lady thought that was her only choice, and her family and friends have my deepest condolences.
But seriously all you have to do is simply not respond, turn off the device,
It's seems kids these days don't know right from wrong, parents aren't allowed to be parents.
With bullying kids these days don't realize there are limits, boundaries.
Growing up we had bullies, but guess what there were rules, bullies knew they could go so far before others step in or the person being bullied decided enough was enough

Paul Barrere, Guitarist-Singer for Little Feat, Dies at 71.

I'm sorry to say that, although I remember the name of the band very well, I can't for the life of me play one single song of theirs in my head. Reading a few titles didn't help.

At any rate, I do remember them from my youth, and am saddened by the death of yet another artist from that era. RIP, Paul.

Trying to jog my memory about Little Feat, I looked at their Wikipedia page. My brow furrowed as I read its list of past members, which included Shaun Murphy. Hmmm...my tired old brain thought...like the Dr Shaun Murphy on The Good Doctor? Yes, exactly!

Neither Shaun nor Murphy is particularly obscure (although Sean and Shawn are more common spellings), so it could be pure coincidence. Or perhaps there's a Little Feat fan somewhere in the show's family tree. :)

PS Thanks, luna, for the clip, but that's latter-day Little Feat, not its original iteration from my childhood. I still haven't read or thought of a song from that era that rings a bell, but I'm not done yet!

I went looking for the Little Feat jewel in my library but didn't find it. I have some of their songs but listening to a little of each I couldn't find the song that I remembered. Maybe I have the group mixed up with another. I'm still saddened by the loss of another rock n roller.

:)

I hear them all the time on Deep Tracks.

Christopher Dennis, whose uncanny resemblance to Christopher Reeve aided his role as the Hollywood Superman, has died at only 52.

Dennis was a familiar figure to all of us locals who've seen him on Hollywood Blvd, though I doubt most of us knew his name (I didn't). Alongside all the other costumed characters, Dennis did a good job of entertaining tourists year-round. Dennis was a constant presence, and he will be missed.

Condolences to his family and friends.

Bogaletch Gebre, whose passionate work against female genital mutilation in Ethiopia spared countless girls from the barbaric practice, has died. She was 66.

A victim of the horrific procedure herself, Gebre made it her life's work to fundamentally change the way this traditional practice was perceived. From 1999 to 2008, FGM decreased from ≈100% to 3% in areas her organization worked.

She'll be sorely missed, but her legacy and work will live on. RIP.
