Fatality: 2019

Young Laurel Griggs, a rising Broadway star who’d made some inroads into the small screen, has suddenly left us at just 13. No cause of death has been announced; she passed away on Nov. 5.

RIP, young lady. Thank you for entertaining many people during your all-too-short time here.
How awful. She appears to have been a very promising and talented performer who brought joy to those who knew her. There's a link to her memorial page at the above link, and the comments are very touching.

I can't imagine what her family is going through...

I had severe asthma, and I can say that the feeling of not being able to breathe is terrifying. And then you get panicky...and that just makes it worse. But how can you not feel panic when you can't breathe?!

She must have felt terror unless, I hope, she lost consciousness and wasn't aware of what was happening.

My faith tells me that in the span of a second that child close her eyes and when she re open them she was in the present of the lord

Micah Tennant age 10. This child was one of three people shot at high School football game my deepest condolences to his friends and family

Character actor Michael J. Pollard, probably best known for his part in “Bonnie and Clyde,” (earned him an Oscar nomination) has died at 80. No cause of death was noted.
Cardiac arrest, we know now. I'm not sure if that's in this obituary, or an article I read from KTLA.
RIP, Michael. Thanks for sharing your talents through solid screen work.
Yes indeed. I always liked him. I just saw him in The Andy Griffith Show recently, playing Barney's inept cousin. (So funny: he gets off the bus going to Mayberry to mail Barney a postcard...which will arrive AFTER he does, so he could've just hand-delivered it. :D)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Mann_(musician) John Mann musician and actor, I have seen him in Underworld: Revelotuion, alongst with a fellow actor, whom started in Rusty Lake: A Short Film, link is on youtube, anyways he was such a powerful muisician, rest in peace.
I was listening to a NPR program yesterday they did a tribute piece to Mr. Mann , unfortunately I can't say I am familiar with his work, none the less condolences to his friends and family

Character actor Robert Walker, Jr. has passed at age 79.

I first remember him as “Charlie X” in Tar Trek (TOS). Apart from Star Trek, his television credits included Bonanza, Route 66, Charlie’s Angels, Colombo, and Murder, She Wrote. On the silver screen he was in Ensign Pulver and Easy Rider.

RIP, Mr. Walker, and thanks for bringing some good characters to life.
The name didn't ring a bell, but one look at his face quickly refreshed my memory.

Walker was the son of two stars, but paved his own way in the industry by virtue of his talent. RIP.

Actor Ron Leibman has passed away at 82, from complications of pneumonia.

I remember him well from his large body of work, which included an impressive role in the Oscar-winning movie, Norma Rae, and a Best Actor Emmy for his role in the TV show, Kaz.

RIP, Mr Leibman, and congratulations on a long, productive career.

I enjoyed him in any role. The last thing I recall seeing him in was his recurring role as Rachel’s dad in “Friends,” and they utilized his talents pretty well there.

RIP, Mr. Leibman, and thanks for sharing your talents with us.
He also did Archer, his wife was in Arrested Development. Wow..

RIP Carroll Spinney. Sesame Street will never be the same without him. He was 85.
I was just about to post this. It's unheard of in today's world for anyone to stay at the same job for ≈50 years.

Spinney helped raise a few generations of kids. He'll be sorely missed by those who only knew him from his character on the show, but much moreso by those who actually knew him.

Former Fed Chair Paul Volcker, who served in many administrations for almost thirty years, has died at 92 following a long illness.

RIP, Mr. Volcker. Thanks for your work...at least the vast majority of it. And kudos to your focused work in the 80s to stem the crazy inflation.
I remember that runaway inflation in the '80s, and we really owe Volcker a huge amount of gratitude for all he did to rein it in.

RIP, Mr Volcker. You deserve it!

RIP Carroll Spinney. Sesame Street will never be the same without him. He was 85.
For a while Amazon had the original Sesame Street episodes , the ones that show Oscar as orange and big bird as rail thin crack addicted.
Sesame Street is something that is never going to go out of style, rest in peace Mr. Spinney

2019 looks to be trying to go out with a bang...

Marie Fredriksson, half of the 1990s pop sensation Roxette, has died in her native Sweden at the age of 61. Her management company confirmed in a statement that the singer had died on Monday "following a 17-year-long battle with cancer."

From her management company: “Marie leaves us a grand musical legacy. Her amazing voice – both strong and sensitive – and her magical live performances will be remembered by all of us who was lucky enough to witness them. But we also remember a wonderful person with a huge appetite for life, and woman with a very big heart who cared for everybody she met."

RIP, Marie. Thanks for sharing your talents with your fans and admirers.
Just read about her passing, my thoughts and prayers go out to her friends and family and fans,

I just read about her passing, and this rang true with me:

"Fredriksson was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2002. She underwent aggressive treatment that took its toll but ultimately was successful, her management agency said. However, she was left blind in one eye, with limited hearing and mobility, and was unable to read or write. She was also unable to speak for a considerable period of time after her treatment. Over the years she was able to make a gradual return to the world stage"

I experienced very similar issues post-craniotomy to remove my brain tumor, and some became permanent. So I really feel for her, and can imagine how traumatic that must've been for an artist whose life revolves around performing. She sounds like a strong, determined person.

Speaking for many here, no doubt, we had no idea, Moody. You seem like a very strong and determined person as well. All the best!
Thanks. I was hit with a double-whammy: first, a brain tumor that turned my world upside-down (had to stop working--in a career I loved), then, a few years later, sepsis, which put me within 3 hours of dying. Six months on IV antibiotics, hospitalized, in diapers, unable to do anything for myself, left me humbled, and grateful for each day, each baby-step. Like the first time I brushed my teeth in the bathroom [not in bed] was cause for celebration! :D I was absent from AF for >2 years, and am very happy to be back. :)
