Fatality: 2019

I wasn't really familiar with them, but they died on a stretch of I-10 in Aridzona (not California as has been mistakenly reported) with which I'm very familiar, having driven over it scores of times. There are lots of relatively perilous stretches of it and the dangers are boredom and excessive speed. I-10 has some really boring spots along it. :(
I'll assume your misspelling as a pun intended?

Pilot Jerrie Cobb, America’s first female astronaut candidate, died last month in Florida after a brief illness. She was 88.

Rather than a link, I put the obit article in a quote below so you can easily expand and read it if you like. Jerrie was one of the Mercury 13, who sadly never really went anywhere.

RIP, Jerrie. Thanks for trying, and thanks for reaching.
I'm so in awe of, and grateful to, women like Cobb who paved the way for the rest of us.

It's a shame she never made it into space, but that doesn't diminish the trailblazing she did that led to other women getting there.

RIP.

Boston Celtics legend, John Havlicek, dies at 79.

Although I bleed Lakers purple and gold, I recognize what a great player Havlicek was. Condolences to all who loved him.

I'm the Lekars number one fan.

This is a little different--and weird...and ghoulish: Famed director John Singleton, 51, will die today.

The local TV stations are reporting that it's confirmed he will be taken off life support later today. He suffered a major stroke 12 days ago.

Singleton is best known for his 1991 masterpiece, Boyz N the Hood.

My deepest condolences to the Singleton family. God forbid I am in ever that situation where I have to make that decision.
