@joe71
I had forgotten the TV series that followed, but I'm fairly sure Irene (I - ree - nee) Cara was only in the original Alan Parker movie (he had much earlier directed a young Jodie Foster in the Bugsy Malone movie musical).

The Fame movie is worth another watch.
I wonder why I don't see it on some channel.

I've never seen it myself.

But as I've got nothing to do this evening, I may give it a watch....

I didn't think much of the Fame TV series, although my sister liked it.

1980 was when I left school and went to college, and the only movies I can recall seeign at the time was The Elephant Man and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.

Seems like this month we said goodbye to a lot of amazing female singer/song writers and actresses.o_O:saddroid::thumbsdowndroid:
Rest in peace ladies

It’s hard not to love “Cheers” and the amazing talents that came together to make the show what it was. Kirstie was no exception as she threw herself into that role with near-reckless abandon. And one of the best laughs ever at the Emmys was given her at the conclusion of her acceptance speech (for “Cheers,” of course).
RIP, Kirstie, and thanks for sharing your talents. Condolences to your family, friends, fans and loved ones.
