II was hoping it would fix the silent call bug that a lot of Eris users have experienced, but no luck.

What is your baseband (radio) version?

Settings->About phone, scroll down to find "Baseband version". If it is not 2.42.01.04.27, there may be a way to keep KF but just update the radio.

There is a section there that will tell you how to upgrade your radio to 2.42.01.04.27. Hope this helps

Well after upgrading to KF and the newer kernel, the sound issue is gone. But there are a few bugs in the KF ROM that are a little annoying.

That's something for another thread though and my original problem is gone. Thanks for the replies.
