Favorite App so far.... Developers please see link to Announcements above.

I always pay for apps if an app has a paid version that does nothing but get rid of ads. I do like to support developers, but if they don't offer an ad free paid version I still don't want ads in my apps. I never click on ads if I do see them so they don't generate any money from me due to ads anyways....

Devs get ads per view as well. I forget the amounts but if you're screen is on and you're playing angry bird for 10 minutes, each ad that runs by generate $0.01 for the dev. If you click on it, they get additional pennies.

Even though I dont like ads, that sound pretry fair to me.

On my small 3.2 screen ads do get in the way. For instance, in Angry Birds, some of the tall structures are obscured by ads. I hope the devs make all the money they can, but, I probably will continue to use Adfree until I get a larger phone.

In some apps the adds are still there just invisible and you can still see the X to close the add so they still get viewed so to speak

I see it in words with friends and a few others

I don't use words with friends but I'm tempted to dl it to simply see what this looks like. Post the other apps if you remember them.

Are these more or less annoying than the banner ads?

Have not read regarding apps advertising but typically there is either pay per click and cost per thousand impressions in the internet advertising.

Well said, pat. And thank you, Roze!

My turn. (:

If you like to download music, there's an awesome app called Music Paradise. It's free with a current rating of 4.6, and it's super easy to learn. Fast downloads with great quality music. I downloaded 60 songs in nearly 30 minutes. Highly recommended!

Just curious, how much did you pay for the songs??

roze i have found out using addfree and Pandora create the same invisible adds as they do in Words with Friends

I don't remember there being any invisible ads in words with friends before I paid to remove them. I just remember the game wouldn't function at all without a modified host file for ad free so that it didn't block ads in words with friends. Maybe they have changed some things in words with friends since then...

Astro Player dar.fm
Love this app, and the service.
Essentially, dar.fm (that's a website) is like a Tivo for radio. You need to set up a free account, and you can record any over the air radio show and listen to it later. It's free for one show at a time, and a charge for multi shows.
Download the app, and sign it - then download the recorded show to your phone. Sweet.
I live in Philly, and love a techno show called 'Delirium Drop' that is only on KUCI in California. The time difference messes me up if I listen to it live, but, like I said, this is like radio Tivo!

some apps I like:

interval timer AD
What this does is let you set up an elaborate interval cardio workout. So you set the warmup time, then the intervals and rest periods which can be repeated x times and finally the cooldown. I use this while I'm on the exercycle and I just follow the beats.

Push-ups - chest exercises
I use this for calisthenics such as pushups, situps, etc. Obviously you don't have to use this just for pushups. Instead of counting minutes like the interval timer, now I count reps. It has a workout routine but you can create your own custom routines with x number of reps, y number of sets, amount of time per rep and the amount of rest time between sets. It's the closest thing to a boot camp in your phone!

Math Studio
Possibly the best math app on Android. You can even do animated 3D graphs on it.

Brain Age by Best Addictive
challenges your memory and arithmetical skills

Memory trainer by Urbian
another well made memory game.

OK here's a cool app that I just found. Tubemate. Downloads youtube videos to your phone so you don't have to worry if the net is down. I found it on the market last night just right before they took it down but it's also on slideme.org

That is what I have used to download videos to use for live wallpapers. I didn't find it on the market though. I have it listed as one of my favorite apps in my favorite non market apps thread.
