Any more special promos on "Play" lately? Ive been out of commission with my android.

Dont suppose there is a calendar equivalent? when I put a meeting inot my claendar and tell the phone to be on silent during that time?. currently I use outlook on the desktop and am looking for an app to sync to the phone, and would happily use whatever calendar app allowed that!!!
Previoulsy the "timed profile" in nokia was the nearest I got - could set it to be silen until the end of the meeting, then back to loau so I knew which pocket it was in.

I use "Setting Profiles" to customize meeting, and other profiles.
This is the paid version, but there is a Lite version in the market too. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...51bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5wcm9iZWV6LnByb2ZpbGVzIl0.

I use Tasker to do that. Any time there is a calendar event titled "work" my phone is put into silent and auto sync is turned off. Once that calendar event ends the settings are automatically restored.

How about Text Widgets that allow you to label each home screen. This allows me to display a category of shortcuts and widgets on each home screen and know by the main screen label what I am viewing.

which TED?
there's a bunch
After 6 months of using android there are two apps that have remained on my phone for a long time and get used daily.

TED
Introduced to me by Drippler

and

Wordfeud. Love the game and spend too much time chatting to a girl from Texas on it!

The Viz Profanisaurus is also excellent! But you will probably have to be British to understand the context of it. (Classic adult comic full of obscenity!)

BBC News, eBay and Google Sky Map have also remained. And a few others. I dont play computer games but Devil Hunter is pretty good!

hmmm... i have T on my rooted P509 device but never tried ditching the bloatware apps..
my new interest and reason for the ?? is to neuter the junkware on a Galaxy S 4G

Just don't forget to back everything (Nandroid backup) before you start deleting stock apps.

Good advice from Roze. Also I recommend that first you freeze the app, reboot, and make sure everything still works ok. Then if something is broken then just defrost the app, if everything is ok, then you can go ahead and delete if you want or just leave it frozen and forget about it.

That is the method I used after messing some things up when I was new to rooting

I think my favorite app right now is the DropBox. For one, I was about to go get some help to see why in the world BusyBox refuses to install. I have a laptop and it's not always convenient carrying a laptop around unless there is something I didn't copy to my DB folder and I don't have the funds to add more space so I delete things once a week not necessary to have. O.k. now I must venture on to find out why BusyBox will not install for me since some rooted apps require this be installed.

I loaded Zedge for ringtones. Lots of good ones (the Blazing Saddles are my favs). They have wallpapers also, but haven't even looked there yet

My favourite app is the new Dropbox with instant upload of your photos as soon as you snap a picture.

Whenever i take a photo with my phone its backed up and on my PC when i get home.

Audiogalaxy is pretty damn amazing. I set it up a while ago, but never really got it to work untill the last update. Now I can stream my entire HDs worth of music wherever I am. Now that I have 4G with a brand new Rezound, I am a music streaming boss. I use it in my car everyday.

Google + does the same thing. Uploads automatically be Picassa. And there is no space restriction.

Are you sure there is no restriction? I remember a couple years ago I hit my storage limit on picasa, so I now pay for more. Its only $5 a year for an extra 20gb shared across all Google services so its a great deal, unless they have removed the restriction.

But yes, Google+ is awesome for instantly uploading pictures and videos
