Favorite apps for HUAWEI ASCEND users!

So I just bought my Huawei Ascend, about 3days ago. And updated it to Android 2.2(through MetroPCS website), I rooted my phone, using z4root. And downloaded Wireless Tether(app).. From my phone, everything works fine. From my laptop, though, not really. I'm able to see my phones wifi name, but doesnt let me connect. It tells me to 'diagnose' the problem, or choose another network. But none of that works. I even put a password. But it still doesnt connect. When I type in the correct password, it goes through, like its going to connect, but it says 'Windows cannot connect'. I type in the wrong password(on purpose), and it says wrong password. So I know everything is done correctly, but for some reason, Its not letting me connect. Is there something else that needs to be downloaded?:confused:
 
Who's your carrier? If you have Metro then you're on 1X which is slow and it may take awhile and there is nothing you can do to make it faster. I have Cricket (3G) and I do not have this issue.
 
so launcher pro my favorite and only launcher, but when i reboot and sometimes afterwards it keeps asking me if i want to "Force close" or "Wait"
of coarse i picked wait but i hate getting that message, how do i make it to stop making that pop up?

I used to get that from time to time,no matter how I had the memory settings in the 'ADVANCED SETTINGS' in LAUNCHER PRO.

That problem has disappeared since I incorporated LINK2SD into my CM7 ROM.
Not sure if the extra freed-up internal memory has anything to do w/it,but,I'm not gonna argue w/the results.'0' Force Close issues since LINK2SD installation.

hmm i would love to do that, but im into DT a2sd process better, someday i'll try link2sd but not right now, is it the same as a2sd?
 
I don't think that it's any better,I have yet to use DT's A2SD.They may perhaps differ in methodology,but,attain similar results.Maybe the LINK2SD - LAUNCHER PRO PLUS performance improvement is just a coincidence.How do you have your memory settings in LPP's ADVANCED SETTINGS set up?

i have in Memory usage settings:
*Memory usage preset-Medium
*Use homescreen caches-Checked
*Homescreen cache type-Normal
*Build caches as needed-checked
*clear caches on exit-unchecked
*Prevent force-closes-Check

My setup is a bit different from yours:
1) Memory usage preset:MODERATE
2) Homescreen cache type:COMPRESSED
3) Build caches as needed:CHECKED
4) Clear caches on exit:CHECKED
5) Prevent force closes :CHECKED

Hi, im not sure, but maybe your problem may be the root. You need to use gingerbreak 1.2 to root the 2.2.2 update. Z4root isnt getting it done properly. Maybe try that then see what happens with the tether issue. :) Good Luck!
 
if you move any launchers to sdcard, you will have alot of problems, also it is recommended to have at least a class 4 sdcard for faster read and write performance.
 
So i was testing a few things because my laucnher pro was always giving me force closes so first i unistalled and reinstalled it onto my phone, i noticed somethings when i reinstalled it, that when i did, there were no widgets and running fast, but then i added some widgets and got slower, so i was wondering how can i add widgets (about 4-5) on my screens but without having the launcher lag?
 
Hi I'm new here and I've been wanting to watch some Brazilian channels on my android (huawei ascend).
Does anyone know any app or anything I could download to be able to watch live TV (brazilian and american)?

Main Tab= 600 max 600 min |Scaling On demand | Set on Boot Checked

Profiles- (Enable Chacked)
Screen Off - 122 max 122 min | On Demand | Priority 100

Temp > 45.2 - 245 max 122 min | On Demand | Priority 100

Just wana now will these settings make my phone run smooth (smoother than stock) and battery will last ( atleast as long as it did with stock )

And Smooth enough so I can play games like angry birds without it lagging

That depends on if your running a custom Tom like cm6 or cm7. And the battery life will decrease if your playing games like angry birds because it makes the phone run the CPU at its Max. I suggest getting cm7 or cm6 with a programs like cachemate(auto clears your cache at set intervals of time.) And android assistant(helps monitor your battery n processes)
 
Ok trying to put a zip of themes i found for go launcher and it does not show under the themes at all...even after a re boot....

Im not buying no theme when i got em free right here..what do i do

i have no idea what that is lol sorry, and how can i move all the apps except for the launcher in a2sd?

well the thing with that is even tho your apps will move to sd card some portion on the install app will still remain on the phone, but the really big differents moving the delvik, but before moving the delvik to sd card a class 4 or higher is recommended, reason for that is you will have faster read/write time and even if you install a sd booster your speed will double with read/write time, but if you have just a regular sd card and you move the delvik you will notice a big drop in speed... But go on ebay they sell them for $12 or so depending on the class and size, or if your close by a fry's electronic store, they sell them there dirt cheap, i have got a class 10 from there for $9 on sell they have sells there everyday... frys.com
