Fed Ex lost my HTC Incredible

You can't delete it. Just edit it to say something like, "deleted post" and be done with it.

Joe.. nice persistence and calmness dealing with this. At this point I would just activate the phone, download some apps, and basically learn the OS. Then in a few weeks you can either give Fedex or VZW a call for possible compensation. Then if you get it great and if not who the **** cares. You have a great phone now and one which I have said might very well be the last phone I will need for some time to come. Congrats.. have fun.

This is basically how I feel about the situation. You put it very nicely. I've been studying the Android Market ever since my wife bought the Google N1. I have some ideas of what I want. I will hold off on upgrading to a bigger battery until I use the phone for awhile. I like the feel of the phone in my hand. It's at home charging and can't wait to start playing with it when I get home.

Haha, awesome that you got the phone! I am in love with mine. Verizon CSRs on the other hand, very clear that when calling them, you are playing reverse russian roulette, in that the majority of the outcomes of calling CSRs are not pleasant. Now what would be great, take your fed-ex box, fill it with dogs*** and deliver it to your neighbor's house.

I like this. keep the label on it with your address. Insert dogs#!%. Leave on their front porch.

Definitely can't wait to use it for finding places while on trips. I'm always getting lost driving around new places. Also will definitely use radio while at football games to listen to live broadcasts. So many things I will use it for. :D Have to get the app to create ringtones. I want to at least have special ringtones for my immediate family.

I called the police and they said it's not theft because I never had possession of it. If anything Fed Ex would have to file a claim.

As far as trying to escalate the situation, I'm not much for confrontation unless I know who I'm dealing with. I have no idea who lives at that address or if they're crazy or not. I have the Fed Ex info. I'll call again in the morning. This situation is so bizarre.

Not a theft??? So I should just start grabbing boxes out of the FedEx's guys hands in Texas and I'll be good to go??? I am a police officer in PA, and we have section 3924 of the Crimes Code, "Theft of property lost, mislaid, or delivered by mistake". Even if we didn't I still would have been banging on the neighbor's door if you would have called me.

Wife thinks I shouldn't have to notify my credit card company that I received the phone. I told her that Verizon still needs to be paid for one phone. FedEx just paid for the replacement. I may just wait and let Verizon and my credit card company work it out between them. I don't know yet.

Congrats Joe - enjoy your new "toy" :)

Just my 2 cents - I would let my card company and verizon work it out. You've already spent enough time on this.

I think they meant that joe isn't legally the victim, that the phone was technically either FedEx's or Verizon's property.

This. If VZW has trouble getting money from your credit card company I promise you THEY WILL GET A HOLD OF YOU. Now that you have your phone, just sit back and let the bureaucracies work themselves out.

I think we learned a valuable lesson from this thread.

We can steal fedex packages and no one cares!!

The police won't come help. Fedex won't come back to claim the package and the claim gets lost in the heap of corporate customer service. The sender won't claim responsibility.

Time to quit my day job!

;););)

The GPS is simply amazing. I have a horrible sense of direction and in the short time I've had the phone (since launch) it's saved my butt more times than I can count.

Congrats on finally getting the phone joefrog, and enjoy it! However, I haveta agree with most on here that you are still owed something by Verizon. Sure it may take a couple CSRs to get it done, but it'll get done. You know, maybe even a letter to the local news to make VZW and FedEx look bad, you never know, maybe its a slow news day!

Yay for Joefrog. I've been following your story and I just receive my Dince last Thursday. I was so hoping yours would turn out well. You seem like a really nice, considerate person. Your patience and maturity in dealing with this situation is so admirable. I only wish I had half the ability to deal with incompetence the way you did. I hope you enjoy your Dinc. I can tell you really wanted this phone too. I felt the same way when I went through my ordeal to get it. I can tell you're going to love it. And about your neighbor.. I wouldnt sweat them, Karma has a way of taking care of situations like that : ). Take care. And enjoy your Dinc man!

I really, really like this idea. They'll think they're getting your replacement phone and instead...

I can make calls, but can't receive calls yet. Verizon rep said it could take 48 hours to start receiving calls. We'll see what happens tomorrow. Supposedly, I'm going to get a $25 credit. We'll see.

verizon will re-bill you for the phone on your next bill

Hello, This is FedEx LaShelia. I am delighted to know that your replacement phone has arrived. Please accept my apology on behalf of FedEx and our courier for this happening.
