First Sprint Bill for Evo... New Customer

Moze, I agree with you. If a service is REQUIRED, discounts should apply. Though it is our choice to purchase the phone they are not doing good by their customers. Not a fan of the nickel and dime procedure. Though for me it would only be $1.50 off at the time, money saved is money saved in this economy. I won't gripe too much as unlimited 3g data is very nice as I don't have high speed where I live.

ilaofficial- screenshots!

My next question... are taxes calculated by area code or by billing address?

I live in New York and am paying about 6.5% taxes and fees total on my bill (and have a Missouri number -- ported from AT&T).

I also got the EVO but I got HotSpot. My bill is $166!! NONE of my Corp. discounts were applied. Plus they weren't supposed to charge me the activation fee and they did. How is this cheaper than my AT&T iPhone?
Call them and have them remove the activation fee.

Verizon adds a bunch of crap too, to my surprise.

I hate these companies.

2 year contracts + hidden charges = unethical.

It's where you physically live.

Ok, so my bill went live. Last night I couldn't see this.

Jun 04-Jun 07- Prorated Charges
Jun 04 - Jun 07 Everything Data - 450 Anytime Minutes Included $9.33

Jun 04 - Jun 07 Premium Data $1.33
Next Month

Single Plan
Everything Data - 450 Anytime Minutes Included $69.99

Premium Data $10.00

Activation Fee
$36.00

Sprint Surcharges
$5.97

Government Fees & Taxes $4.23

My 15% didn't show up yet, but they told me it could be up to 2mnths to show. For those complaining about the 22% off of the 69.99 compared to it taken off the 79.99, you do realize it's a 2 dollar difference? Sure it adds up, but 2 bucks a month, imo ... isn't worth the complaining.

Mine will be a 1.50 difference. Oh well.

My bill will be around 80 bucks after everything works its way out. 50 buck difference from my iPhone bill :D

I'm a new customer, this is what I got:

Jun 04 -Jun 07 - Prorated Charges

450 Anytime Minutes Included - $9.33
Premium Data - $1.33
Total Equipment Protection - $0.93
Employee Discount Sprint 10% - (minus)$0.93
E-Credit Bill - (minus)$5.00

Next Month
450 Anytime Minutes Included - $69.99
Employee Discount Sprint 10% - (minus)$7.00
Premium Data - $10.00
Total Equipment Protection - $7.00
Spending Limit Program Charge - $4.99 (Not sure what this is, I think it will be removed when I sign up for auto-pay)
Activation Fee - $36.00
Sprint Surcharges - $4.60
Government Taxes & Fees - $10.40
Total: $141.64

Now it's only $100.08, I called to have them remove the activation fee, but it seems like the woman removed $10 more. Not complaining :P

My Premium Data was prorated, not sure why some of yours weren't.

Interesting...
The employee discount does not seem to be calculated in for the $10 premium data fee... :-/

I noticed that as well. I just emailed customer service to find out why, because their email to me saying my employee discount was added stated "it applies to your entire bill with the exception of insurance".

What makes you people think you don

Try echat. Don't need to come up with any reasons. I didn't but then again, I am a new customer of Sprint.

Just closed my account with Sprint. I would be totally fine with that $10 premium data if they didn't tell me IN WRITING that it would be $7 after my corp discount. When I call in they don't care that they put that in writing on the contract or honor the $36/yr difference. I don't care to deal with a company that will put things in writing on the contract and not honor it.... again I'd be TOTALLY ok with it if they told me straight up and not lie.

This is what my issue was... It isn't the money, I have the money. It is the fact that a representative of their company tells you one thing and they do not honor it. They would rather lose you as a customer than keep their word. This I had a problem with.

Other than that, no complaints.

Bill is $98.87.

Prior to my phone call removing the Activation fee it was $138.94

Taxes and surcharges suck.

Wow. Did you even offer to show them the email they sent that said about the percentage off?

I don't know if I would drop that quick, but it's your money and pride man. More power to ya though.

What the $^%&#^&????

Total Due by July 01 $146.80

I got charged $4.44 for Sprint surcharges?

What the hell is that?

Sprint Surcharges are rates we choose to collect from you to help defray costs imposed on us. Surcharges are not taxes on you or amounts we are required to collect from you by law. Surcharges other charges incurred to recover costs associated with governmental programs, and certain taxes imposed upon Sprint. The amounts, and the components used to calculate Surcharge amounts, are subject to change.

Federal-Univ Serv Assess Non-LD - $3.05
Administrative Charge - $0.99
Regulatory Charge - $0.40

I'm going to fight these surcharges.

Government Fees & Taxes - $15.71
Florida State-Comm Service Tax - $8.88
Seminole County-911 Tax - $0.50
Altamonte Springs City-Comm Service Tax - $6.33

My Bill should be

$69.99
$10.00
-----------
$79.99

Taxes
Florida $5.59
Seminole $0.50
Altamonte Springs $3.99

Bill: $90.07 (That's almost the exact amount I used to pay with T-Mobile and my G1 service, so I am happy)

BUT NO SURCHARGES!

I would like to point out that when I worked for radioshack, and sold sprint phones years ago, we did mention to people that their first bills would be higher than subsequent bills, so keep that in mind too

Surcharges usually include 911 taxes, city taxes, county taxes, state taxes, country taxes, continent taxes, and earth taxes. (A little sarcasm at the end here if anyone missed it)
