i haven't yet rooted because i'm having problems partitioning my SD card Gported won't find the card
just dont panic/worry. First boot takes about 10 mins....go make a cuppa.![]()
not familiar with the rom your trying to flash, but if it requires the partition for a2sd+ and you have not made a partition, it will probably just bootloop.
It doesn't matter what order you do the rooting and partitioning in.
Put the zip on the normal (fat32) partition of the card. You won't be able to copy to the ext partition from Windows anyway.
he's already rooted anyway i think Hadron.
Checkout the rooting faq below and read it thoroughly.

Just download the Gparted ISO.
Download GParted from SourceForge.net
Burn it to a CD as an image using your favourite burning programme.
Once done, boot your computer from the CD.
I'd suggest you not complicate the matters. Yes, Gparted can be booted via WMware Player virtually or from a standard USB stick, but the easiest way is to simply put it on a CD and boot the PC.i havrn't any spare cd's handy so SUroot said to use a VMplayer instead which i setup but it doesn't read the SD card if i had a CD it would be alot easier but i can't get any until tomorrow

Also, some people have trouble to find the card in Gparted to partition, if the card is still in the phone. It is much easier to use a cardreader (almost every notebook has it).
)I don't know VMplayer either. Playing with VirtualBox and Ubuntu I got GPartEd to see my card, but it involved a little faffing - giving the VM access to the phone, then mounting the card (for file transfer) did the trick. It may be that there's something similar needed with VMplayer to let the VM rather than the host computer see the phone, and if that isn't enough try mounting/unmouting the card from the phone.
All I can suggest really - fiddle with the options and see what works (my usual way with computers)

got the git to find my device
do i need to label the new partition or not?
