Root first time rooting/flashing - issues - cool kingdom v6

Just connect your phone to your computer. The root of your sd card is the directory with all the various folders on it such as .Android Secure .Data .Footprints etc . Just place the rom in there and not inside it's own folder or any other folder.

cheers another question

i've downloaded titatnium(free) but i'm confused about what apps to backup is it just the ones i've downloaded and want to keep? also i've backup my contacts to my gmail account and don't care about losing my text so do i still need Mybackup?

If you read the thread over at XDA, it tells you to create a folder on the root of your SD card and I quote.

Option 1.
If you are coming from ANY other ROM, do this before flashing RCMix with autoinstall script.

  1. Create a folder named Robocik on the root of sd card, in that folder, create a subfolder named app.user.
  2. Use file explorer which allows you to go to data folder in your PHONE memory. You need to go to data/app folder, then select all apps, copy and paste them to your newly created Robocik/app.user folder on sd card root. I used Root Explorer, not sure if other file explorers will have same functionality.
  3. Flash ROM, sit back and enjoy autoinstall

Once you've done that, when you flash the rom it will automatically install all your apps for you.

Well you can do it that way, but the fact that the rom you're installing does have a restore apps script makes it very easy, easier than using Titanium backup in my opinion.

ok so i've backed up my apps, done my nandriod back and store my contact on my google account, should i use my charger when installing from zip?

Just like to say a massive thank you for everyone who has help me with my rooting/flash experience my phone how is running RCmix s v2.0 and it's looks and run amazing

Thank you very much guys

That's great news and I'm glad we could help.

Just a quick FYI. Go to settings/about phone/updates and untick scheduled update.

This is because you can no longer receive over the air updates and if you were to do so, it would most likely cause untold problems. Better to get rid of that possibility methinks.

Another tip is to do the following.

Go to settings/applications/manage applications and click on the on sd card tab. If anything in there is ticked, untick it and move it to the phone. This will make it transfer to the ext3 partition of your SD card.
