Full Adobe Flash Player 10.1+ will not run on the Sprint HTC Hero. It requires an ARMv7 type processor while the Sprint HTC Hero has an ARMv6 type processor.
Angry Birds will always be a tad less smooth on the Sprint HTC Hero. The best advice that I can give you to minimize the choppiness is to overclock the CPU to 768 MHz and turn on Airplane Mode to disable the advertisements which rob the CPU of its power.
