Root [FIXED]Velocity Bootanimation!

AndroidKris

Android Enthusiast
Okay everyone, sorry for the inconvenience with the previous animation. For some reason, it wouldn't loop. Well through a TON of googling, editing, checking, and retrying every step of the process, I figured it out. Now, here is a WORKING Velocity Bootanimation for you to enjoy.

For the first file, place on root of sd card, then through terminal emulator type:
$ su
# cp sdcard/bootanimation.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip
# reboot

bootanimation.zip This bootanimation.zip is 1.88mb in size.

Below is a flashable .zip named appropriately FlashVelocityBootAnim.zip. Simply reboot to recovery, wipe cache and davlic cache, toggle signature verify (it is unsigned), then flash.

FlashVelocityBootAnim.zip This FlashVelocityBootanim.zip is 2.04mb in size.

Both files are also attached at the bottom of this post.
I'll be working on a screenshot or gif to post asap.
Questions, comments or concerns, pm me or post here. I'll be checking as often as I can.

Maybe create a GIF of what this boot animation looks like? At the very least a youtube video of you booting up your phone?

First of all, thanks for the feedback everyone. Being my first ever created bootanimation, it's probably not perfect. This feedback is what I need to make it better if there are problems.
Second, I'm going out of town this weekend, so I wont be able to get a video of it playing, but I should be able to get something done early next week.

The colors are just about the same . Major change is that "velocity" scrolls from left to right... overall I like it, good job man

I had the Nexus bootanimation from the Velocity script installed. I flashed this one and rebooted as you directed, D2A. However, my bootanimation didnt change. I dont need to clear cache and dalvik, do I?

Shouldn't have to clear caches. I didn't and it worked fine on my ally. Did you type "&" before "su"? You don't have to

Thanks man, I work on windows Vista, and I'm fairly amateur on Vista. I didnt even know those two files were in there. Sorry about that everyone. Death, if you dont mind, I'll update OP with your links.

I have made a custom bootanimation for Velocity users, and anyone else who might want to try it. It's a very simple animation, as it's the first one I've ever created, so don't expect much.
EDIT: I have fixed the animation, here it is for your enjoyment.
DOES NOT LOOP. Still having issues fixing that. Sorry guys.

bootanimation.zip

The file is approximately 2.3 Mb.

Simply place the bootanimation.zip on the root of your sdcard, open Terminal Emulator, and type the following.
Code:
& su
# cp sdcard/bootanimation.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip
# reboot

Enjoy!

Last thing. To the Velocity development team, I apologize if I have stepped on anyones toes in creating this, or posting it to the public. Feel free to PM me or find me on irc if there are any problems.

Nice work! I really like it! :D

Sorry. I dont use velocity. where is the boot animation stored? my dinc has it in /system/media sorry.

The stock Velocity boot animation is built into the framework-res. To revert back to it, simply remove your custom boot animation.
Code:
su
rm /system/bootanimation.zip
reboot

I dont know how accurate this might be, but I've noticed that when i change the bootanimation with velocity scripts, the new one is in /system/media. Correct me if i'm wrong...oh, and i flashed yours Death, still no loop...dont know what is wrong. =(

Tried the flashable zip, said install successful but didnt change it. Going to download the other zip now.

The bootanimation.zip worked fine, great work by the way.

Dont know what happened when you tried the flashable zip. I tested it myself and it worked fine. If someone else could test it and let me know, I'll fix it. Thanks
