I was wondering if the way to flash backside ROM is to download it from the page put it on the memory card and then open it from there or is there a better rom out there?? i just need a rom that will make the phone faster and how do i overclock the phone??

I have a stock rooted optimus

For overclocking help look at this SetCPU for Root Users

The min. is where the CPU idles. Never take the min. above 480MHz this will cause overheating in the CPU and or the battery.
The best place to start is 768MHz max-480MHz min
Then take the max. up one setting at a time until the phone reboots. Then back down 2 settings. This is where you need to be for the best battery life and performance.
 
Read the thread Andy posted, it will walk you through the steps to putting a new recovery on your phone, and then flashing a new ROM. ;)
 
where is it?? i dont see where it shows me how to put custom recovery, can i not use the recovery that comes with the phone??? when i hold me menu volume up and turn the phone on??

It seems like you're looking for short cuts, and that's never a good idea. It's a fast track to brick your phone. Just read carefully, everything you need is in the links that have already been posted. By the way, your devices lists a Galaxy Prevail. That isn't the phone you're trying to put BACKside on, is it? If so, you're going to brick it. BACKside is for the Optimus V only, although there is a decent ROM for the Prevail called ShabbyMod.
