Root Flashing new rom

whats the deal with putting the name-of-rom.zip file on the root of the sd card? Im installing the newest nightly of CM7 as i type this(currently on splash screen) and it seems to be working just fine so far despite the fact that my zip file was in the download folder.... soooo, is it merely for ease of finding it?
 
It just saves you the time it takes to search for it elsewhere. Both CW and RA allow you to browse the card, now. That didn't used to be the case. It's kind of one of those legacy things that stuck around for ease of use.

figures lol yeah, i got it to install just fine, and since it was basically a mere update, i didnt hafta do anything remotely close to what i had to do when i went from ESII to CM7 (holy acronyms batman!!) sidenote, all these nightlies of CM7... whats the deal with there being 37 of em? 37??? is that necessary? whats so different about them? kernel tweaks? rom fixes? am i looking too far into this? LoL

Yes i have a rom folder and everytime i find a rom i like i dl and toss it in there, on a rainy day i peruse it and flash something. I would freak if my root was all cluttered! There are only pretty named folders in alphabetical order on my root :).

LMAO!!!!! after talkin to ya a lil bit, and i know whatcha mean homey:) mines kindof a mess cuz i thought i needed to leave certain things on the root
 
ew no clean that shit up lol before have a breakdown and come clean it up for you. its not a good day lol...i told someone they were hurting my head a minute ago, its like the guy that couldnt get to hboot because he didnt hold the buttons long enough...no offense guy if you come in here you will rename unnamed but live in infamy

lmao!!!! we all make freshmen mistakes, well not all of us, but God knows I did LoL and Matt, with all the amazing help you provide, i think youre entitled to be a smart a$$ from time to time bud. Plus when y'all facepalm over stuff like that, it makes for a great read!!! ill work on my sd card tonight, your ocd can sleep soundly ;)
