Well, not lost in operating my Droid, but lost as far as rooting and 2.2.

I installed plenty of leaks on my blackberry's pretty easily. But when I look at the rooting and playing around with 2.2....i have NO IDEA what to do.

Can anyone recommend a guide step by step to get to 2.2, and which one is stable enough for a noob to use?

Thanks everyone!

Bill

It sounds worse than it really is. Just follow the instructiions step by step and post back if you get stuck.

:D Thanks everyone. I will try when I get home today. And I surely will post back if I hit a snag! And I'll also report back if it goes smoothly.:)

Former BB user here. I learned way to fast. Got phone on a Sunday. Activated it.... hour later was rooted.. Then rom and overclocked.

And...i'm stuck.

I'm rooted...trying to install 2.2 now....

2. Turn your phone off and turn it back on by holding down the X button on the keyboard and power until the recovery screen comes up.

The only thing that comes up is the triangle exclamation point and it stays there. what am i doing wrong?

i dont think so. it doesnt tell me to load the folder until after this step. should i put the android 2.2 nandroid folder on the sdcard now?

The best thing you can do is download Rom Manager From the Market. Download the free version then upgrade to premium. Then you will have everything you could ever want.

I think the latest version of Kangerade Fixed this, not sure i am running 1.0 and have not updated my maps Yet

Market version of maps works fine with Chevy rom. Ypu may have to uninstall, download from market, and reinstall.

Thanks again to everyone for the help....I'm really enjoying my droid. 2.2 is freakin awesome!!! ;) It was really easy to do. It would have been perfect except for the one thing I overlooked. Thank goodness it wasn't a fatal error
