Will this forum be renamed to the Galaxy Nexus ? instead of the Prime if in fact that is the name VZW goes with? ...Can that be done without all of the threads being lost?

Not sure we need to jump the gun and rename anything until Tuesday night. Remember, there may still BE a "Nexus Prime" for the rest of the world while Verizon gets the Galaxy Nexus. In which case, we just start another forum.

Rename this forum, create a new Nexus Prime forum in the case that there IS a Nexus Prime after all. Hopefully posts won't get deleted on accident...again.

I've been wondering this for a while now too. I'm sure it will happen eventually. I think they're just waiting for the "real" official word from Samsung/Google on Tuesday

We need to keep in mind there is another forum here dedicated to Verizon Nexus "Samsung Droid Prime". That one has been almost idle as of late. It's funny since most of us here are on verizon but this forum gets way more love from us.
So I don't think we need to rename anything until Tuesday. If it really becomes Galaxy Nexus on verizon, then we can rename the other forum accordingly and jump in there. This forum can serve for Nexus Prime on GSM carriers then.

What about THIS, Mods & Phases?
Instead of starting a new Galaxy Nexus forum and keeping this one Nexus Prime (which really has THOUSANDS of posts germane to the Nexus), or trying to move all these threads into the new forum, how about just renaming THIS forum the Galaxy Nexus and starting ANOTHER forum called Nexus Prime - or whatever it's gonna be called?
That way the Verizon info we've worked so hard to compile stays here and the global Prime forum starts all over anew as of Tuesday night (or whenever the official announcement for it is).
Does that sound too much like the OP? If so, I apologize for repeating it. I'm just typing out loud here...

Ok, a few things.
That Steven guy can't help here - this is an Admin issue, as Kelmar identified. We propose, Phases (Admin) disposes.

Finally, I agree - we're not likely to even think of doing anything until Wednesday at the soonest (US time).
There's a lot of good info here and we tend to save that, not run it to ground by dumping forums because of a name change at launch - and in our history, we've seen plenty of those.
This is likely going to get renamed, then we'll decide on the merits/needs of separating out the GSM crowd from the CDMA crowd. Sometimes it's painfully obvious to do that, sometimes the two groups like to co-exist.
All of the above isn't THE decision, it's just me following up Kelmar's post so everyone has more to base expectations on.
The real discussion needs to be in the Suggestion Box area. I'm reluctant to move this thread there at this point because before Wednesday, nothing's going to happen.

Let's wait. Every other forum we make has to be renamed or made to work decently alongside a dual naming of a phone so.. we'll figure it out.Except that one time I lost about 30 threads in a forum. Boo on Phases.
