Foxfi and ICS...

try it and see is probably the best thing to do.

I would if I could, but I can't so I won't. (but I'm concerned about when I do get ICS, officially)

ie, my phone isn't a hobby--my phone needs to work 24/7. I don't mess around with unofficial releases. Perhaps many on a forum such as this like to play with their phones, but that's not why I'm here.

It doesn't work for me, neither does wifi tether which worked great on Gingerbread.

PDA Net still works for USB.

Foxfi works for me on ics leak 6.7.232. You need to change the network name before for you turn it on the first time and then it works. I am posting this while using foxfi now.

Works for me on ICS 232 as well. Not rooted. Using my bionic as a hotspot as i type this on my nexus 7 right now. By the way the ICS leaks work fine even if you need your phone for work. You can join us silly fools who play with our phones as a hobby.

Foxfi isn't suppose to need root and works on all ICS builds I've tried, never have ran it unrooted though.

Doesn't the phone have the ability to act as a hotspot built in? I thought the reason people used Foxfi was to get around being charged the hotspot fee by Verizon but that Verizon lost a lawsuit and can no longer charge for hotspotting?

That doesn't apply to those of us with grandfathered unlimited data.

From the link you posted: "consumers on usage-based pricing plans may tether, using any application, without paying an additional fee..."

Unlimited data is not a "usage-based pricing" plan.

So I continue using FoxFi.

Same here.
I'll continue to do the dance while I enjoy the cornucopia that is all-you-can-eat data...while I can.

I've had issues with my D1 holding a connection to FoxFi, and thought it was FoxFi, but I'm now thinking it is my D1.

Why? I just recently bought the Transformer Infinity WiFi only, and it keeps a rock solid connection to FoxFi on my BIONIC with the default SSID in FoxFi, using Wireless N for connection and granting me all sorts of 4G Speed goodness.

I am unable to get Foxfi to work on my phone, rooted running 232. I tried changing the name, but still no help.

FoxFi worked fine for me on an HTC Thunderbolt and then a Moto RAZR Maxx. I recently switched to the RAZR M and....no Joy. I've tried everything from uninstalling/reinstalling to resetting the phone. No WiFi tether, no Bluetooth tether to my Nexus 7.
