It was pretty extensively examined before it was passed. Both houses spend years going over it.

I can accept the argument for killing terrorists. There is no excuse for killing innocent people. Nor for calling anyone of military age a combatant.

How would Americans have reacted if the British had spent the last 40 years blowing up apartment blocks in Boston or NY because one of the many Americans who supported terrorists in europe was in the building? They'd have been rightly outraged. So how is it OK for the US to do exactly the same thing in Pakistan or Afghanistan or Somalia or Yemen?

So the millions of low information voters that put Obama in power did so without knowing a few facts. Now that OC is in place and ready to go, they will begin to ask why they are paying so much for so little.

Here is what will happen. When it is finally full steam ahead and people start getting the bills for their HC and their company HC is dropped, millions of people will be very upset. No matter what the low information voter says it will cost matters very little because in the end, bills will be delivered.

The government can take payment from your accounts without much effort and the IRS will be in charge of collections. Remember, it does not matter what we are told will or will not happen. the problem is these bad things are written into the law and that is what matters.

I do not see a happy country come 2014.

Depending on the printer, margins and default font sizes, the HC bill prints out at about 2,500 pages. Go to Office Max and stack up 5 reams of bond. That is what those that passed it would have to read.

I believe Nancy Peoisi said something like "we will have to pass it before we know what is in it." Those that signed it did not read it and most will freely admit it.

I know a group that actually did read the bill and what I posted is just the beginning. There are things in that bill that would scare the hell out of you.

It was all over the local news here in SLC. It is a bigger story than you seem to think. The press had to report this one. Spin is a different thing, however. I know what a filibuster is and why RP did what he did, so I did not care to pay much attention.

Researching before posting is a hard thing. The data can be hard to come by and when you Google, you likely see thousands of links to the same general information that is usually either incomplete or slanted to the left.

I am a researcher and even with my mad skills, it is hard to put the facts before the public. Either the left will not relay the facts and many people simply do not believe you.

Case in point: when I tell those that want to soak the rich (those that pay no federal income taxes) that the rich pay most of the taxes and carry those that do not pay the IRS, quite often they do not believe me because the press does not mention it or they choose to spin the piece ignoring the facts.

I've got a news flash: I've been anti-republican my whole life, loooong before Obama ever came around. Growing up in a republican state was enough to ensure that. It wasn't ANY democrat that turned me anti-republican. It was republicans.

I just believe he's a far better president than Bush, and all of last year's republican nominees combined. But I do not drool over everything he does. I should mention that when Hitler was elected into power, Germany was in debt to numerous countries. Hitler basically said if you want your money back then buy German products so that the people can work, and we can afford to pay you back.

Perhaps Hitler should have tried to make Germany more competitive instead of running massive deficits, and using invaded countries to pay off debt.
