Fresh 2.0d Battery

Go to Location, turn off use wireless networks, turn on GPS. Go to wireless networks, mobile network settings, turn off enable always-on mobile. Your battery will life will improve 35-50%

may sound dumb, but how is this increasing the battery's performance? seems like it'll use more battery than anything since GPS would be on 24/7..i'll give it a try tho. thx

I'm assuming that the wireless network would automatically turn on once data connection is necessary? (Same for GPS as well)

GPS will only start when a program calls for it. Turning GPS to "ON" only makes it available for use.

"Or you can install the orinal application, WiSyncPlus, which this applications is actively trying to copy. WiSyncPlus has more features and actually works. The interface is crisp, has lots of shortcuts, and is extremely configurable."

haven't tested this out but just putting it out there. it's $3.75 btw and the reviews are pretty good on it. i'm gonna try juice out tho. users are saying it's freezin up their settings or calls can't thru..bout to test

Thanks Much for this - this fix has appeared to fix my battery issue :D

This has definitly improved my battery. I was getting 9 hours tops out of my battery. After testing I have gone 15 to 18 hours consistantly!!!!!!!!!!

One thing to note I am currently running Fresh 2.0d and I have to have GPS on for this to work. I tested for a week without GPS on (How I had my 1.5 build set up) and I had worse battery preformance then before I started.

OK... I'll admit it.. I was sure that this would make things worse instead of better.. after all.. you'd be turning GPS on..which is the exact opposite of what everyone else had always said to do..but I tried it anyways.. just so I could come back and say it was a bunch of BS..

To my surprise... it works!! maybe not the 35-50% but it does work!! I would say that I gained 25-35% battery life... thanks Showbo!!

Thanks for following up. I've just changed those settings and I'll see what happens once my phone is fully charged.

I have the battery widget from the market and I have been paying close attention to it... is it normal for it to go down 1% every 5 mins are so, Mostly the screen may be on for 2-3 mins, Basically when I check in settins Cell Standby is always +30%, voice calls are at 30% and phone idle is at 19%, not sure whats going on, checked all the basic settings with mail and notifications, when can I find the awake time within Spare Parts?

How do you kno if the autokiller app is working? i set my presets to aggressive but how do you kno if it's exactly working? should i tweak any values once i choose aggressive, or just leave it as is?

If you see more than 70MB memory free on any of your system monitor tool, then it working. I have set mine to moderate use. My free memory is at at 55 MB.

Ok seriously the battery life on my hero is still kind of sucking for me, in not sure what to do at this point because my awake time and time do not match at all and I don't see anything taking up a large percentage of my battery usage in the battery meter, I'm lost.. what more can I do? And I tried that app in the market everyone is talking about for ur battery life. Nothing stood out. Also unchecked the mobile network in the location settings. Help!

i'm assuming you're on fresh 2.0d? if so, how many apps do you have, and do u have your brightness, bluetooth, other settings that take up battery open?

keep in mind that if you keep hitting the home button instead of the back button when trying to close out on apps that it doesn't actually close them but keeps them running in the background so that could be a cause if any

again, signal issues can be a big part.. what is your Time Without Signal? what is the average signal strength you get during the day? (how many bars)

This adjustment really helped my battery life. :D I wish I could recall where I found it to give appropriate credit.

The only additional change I made was to select CDMA instead of CDMA Auto in step 4. Can't say that I've noticed any difference, though.

The below did help my battery. In low signal areas I use to watch my battery drain. With this change, no more vanishing battery. Overall, a definite improvement along with the other great recommendations above.

FWIW, these are the steps. I have a Sprint Hero and running Fresh 2.0d:

1) Go to dialer, type in *#*#4636#*#*
2) Wait for the screen to change and then select Phone Information from the choices.
3) Scroll down to Preferred Network type and change GSM Auto(PRL) to CDMA Auto (PRL)
The explanation that was given was that this is sucking battery because the phone is connected using CDMA PRL but its set to GSM so its looking for a signal via SIM, which we don't have.

I don't see the tws in my battery settings. From what I read this is a good sign, I usually get great service during the day because my work area has great sprint coverage. I lowered my brightness I already tried the cdma prl update, no resolution, I've gotten a task killer just so I can make sure I'm exiting out of apps fully.

Correct, if you don't see tws under Cell standby than you should be good. I have my Brightness set to 10%. I never used task killer. I usually wait for program to end it self or system end during free memory process. What your average battery life you getting? I get between 10-12hr on moderate usage. Twice I was at 35+ hr with light use.

I've had it unplugged from the wall charger since about 12:30pm today, using it very lightly, made a quick 5 minute call also, did some tweeting. I unplugged it at 88%, its now at 74% (its now 5:30pm here), I never thorouhly tested the battery, I would just notice in maybe 30 mins time it would go down about 8% with light usage. I did noticed that you have your GPS turned off in your screenshots, do you turn off the mobile network for LBS too?

Today the battery seems to be a bit better based on what I already told you about it going from 88 to 74% in 5 hours, I'll test it out some more, is Cell Stanby time ok to be at 40%? this always seems to be the highest percentage most of the time
