Fresh 2.1.2 out

Yep, I use the gallery instead of the camera app to view/send pics. Ccapasso knows where to get the apk, maybe he can help with it...

I also get a force close with one of my contacts. It is weird, but I can deal with that one quirk.

You can download the 3DGallery apk from here. Just push it to /system/apps/

You shouldn't have to reboot after it is done pushing. After it has pushed, I simply went to Update PRL and it worked fine.

Got it to work. I was looking through the phone tonight and noticed 2 folders, one called "app" and one called "apps." All the apps on the phone were located in "app" while just the OMADM.apk was located in "apps." I pushed the file to "app" and now i can update just fine.

So make sure you push the file /system/app not apps with an S!

I'm a little confused -- doesn't the 3D Gallery come with 2.1.2? I pushed the file you linked to /system/apps but I see no difference on the phone. I.e. the "Gallery" app looks the same, and I still get FC when I try to go to view pictures from camera. Also get FC when I try to go to camera from Gallery (as I did before pushing Gallery3D.apk too). Is this to be expected, or am I doing something wrong?

Yes, you will still get the FC when in the Gallery and switching to the camera. Here is a simple solution - just don't do it. I use the 3DGallery because I prefer it to the standard "pictures" or "albums" app.

I think I've gone over this like 20 times :). Looks like it is time to add it to the FAQ/Tutorial.

To push a file, do the following:

Make sure you have the sdk installed. On your computer browse to your android-sdk-windows/tools directory. Once there, place the apk you want to push in that folder. Then plug your phone into your computer and make sure USB Debugging is enabled. Now bring up a command prompt and do the following:

cd C:\android-sdk-windows\tools

adb remount
adb push nameoftheapk.apk /system/app/nameoftheapk.apk

The name is case sensitive so make sure you type it correctly.

To pull you do this:

adb remount
adb pull /system/app/nameoftheapk.apk nameoftheapk.apk

Before installing Fresh 2.1.2 and the vanilla lock screen, whenever I had a calendar reminder set, it would keep alerting me every 10 minutes if I did not acknowledge it. Now, I only get the first official reminder alert and that is it. I have missed a couple of events that I had scheduled because I was not around my phone when the first and only reminder alert went off. Anyone else having this same issue?

I have been searching and searching for a calendar to install over the default HTC one to see if that could fix it, but nothing solid has turned up. I'm thinking because I installed the vanilla lock over the HTC lock, that is the problem. Let me know your thoughts please.

I'm having calendar issues too. It seems that my reminders don't make any sort of notification at all until I turn the screen on. Only then do they pop up. So if something is supposed to sound at 5:00pm but I happen to not touch my phone between 4:42pm and 5:57pm, then wake up the screen at 5:57, I get the notification (sound and everything) at 5:57 and I've completely missed my appointment. I also have the vanilla lockscreen. I used fix4, which installs the vanilla lockscreen and the vanilla clock and removes the HTC lockscreen and world clock.

Joefrog -- have you found a fix?

when you pull a file from you phone, where can you find that file after you pull it from your phone?
 
I find it truly shocking that fresh hasn't removed the stock apps apks when the stock pdf viewer in that pkg is known to force loop phones! luckily I did a nandroid backup just before, by coincidence.
 
i'm using launcherpro with fresh 2.1.2 and i started getting more and more lag in going to landscape in anything, browser, handcent, launcherpro...with or without a keyboard up. so i went and did the calibration in the display settings. now, i haven't been able to go in landscape at all. i've rebooted, pulled battery, killed apps, tried resetting the calibration both portrait and landscape. i know i could probably uninstall some apps and if all else fails do my nandroid...just for now i'm dealing with it..i was loving being able to use my phone in landscape fully while it lasted anyways

well, i ended up doing a nandroid, and i think to 2.1 (not sure if 2.1.1 and 2.1 are same, swear i did 2.1.1 before). anyways. all my problems are resolved and basically running the same setup. seems to run a ton better actually than when i was running 2.1.2. anyways...I'm AWESOME, i talk to myself in android forums..lol
