Fresh 2.3.3 Released

Does anyone know how reception is with this one? My wife is still on stock 1.5 a Hero and I am running 2.1.2 with the radio update. In our home, I have NO signal downstairs and low signal upstairs. She has full signal in both places. I just want to have signal again downstairs so I am hoping 2.3.3 seems to fix this issue. If its not 2.3.3 that fixes it but a radio update...where can I find these radio updates?

I loved gumbo custom kernel on 1.5, what will produce similar results on 2.3.3? This DarchKernelv4 710 mhz - or something else?

You don't have the Swype installer still on your sdcard? Worse case scenario someone could find the .apk for you on the interwebz and you'd just have to install it.

i still have the installer on my phone, but i dont see it on my sdcard when i check with es file explorer.

look in the folder on your SD card called downloads... OR, after wiping and flashing.. got to the swype beta site and login again.. tell it to resend the welcome email.. then follow the links like before.. you won't lose Swype..
 
Okay..phone is rebooting from the flash now. I posted earlier about reception issues and thought of something. Can I update my PRL profile on 2.3.3? I have not done that and that could be why my phone does not work so hot and my wife's phone does.

ok, i'm pretty good at wiping/flashing/restoring apps, etc, but will someone PLEASE tell me how to get my "settings/screens back to the way they were"? i have 3 screens full of widgets and are a pain to re-set up every time i change ROM's. i have titanium but cant seem to fig it out!

when coming from 1.5 to 2.1.2, i tried backing up then "restore data" (after wiping/loading new ROM etc) but fresh didnt seem to like this and got stuck in a boot loop. i figured this was because the "data" i was trying to restore was 1.5 specific or something.

what am i missing??

Hmmm... I had a weird experience so far... I was up and working fine until I set up my exchange account. After I set it up the phone rebooted and got stuck in a boot loop. Tried pulling the battery with the same result. Had to nandroid back... can anyone confirm? I did set my gmail account up first. Wiped factory/ and cache fyi.

**UPDATE**

If you setup an exchange account and got the boot loop... Rewipe and download lockpicker app from the market. The only work around so far I guess. Thanks for the info "Random."

Thanks for the tip. Exchange reboot issues is why i'm still on 2.1.1
 
Running a titanium backup i'll still have to remove all the apps that i removed the first time i flashed 2.1.2, right?

i DL Ti Backup and im getting errors when trying to back up. it attempted to DL the busybox program but it seems to be stuck at verifying. should a reboot help? is it a long process? any ideas?
 
Flashed this ROM from a 1.x fresh ROM with gumbo Kernel. This looks cool but a little choppy.... How can I speed it up?

a reboot won't hurt...
 
ok.. an update on battery usage.. unplugged from charger at 7:30am.. sent several texts.. downloaded a couple apps.. checked email every hour (ok..I was just waking the phone because I like to play with it).. made/received 4 calls lasting an average of 10 minutes each.... checked facebook a few times.. in other words.. moderate usage..
at 11pm I still had 33% battery left.. not bad after 15.5 hours.. I'll keep checking usage over the next few days as the ROM settles into place (as I get it all setup like I want and stop playing with it all day)..
