Root Fresh EVO 0.2 ROM Available

I noticed today when I use ES File Explorer and Gallery, I cant see pictures loaded on my SD Card. In ES File Explorer, sometimes it sees the directories but thinks they are empty, sometimes it doesnt even see the directories. In the Gallery, and it showed only 1 picture (in thumbnail icon view) and the rest were just a small icon with an exclamation point. So I pulled the SD Card, verified pictures were good on my laptop, copied the picture files again to the SD Card from my PC using the SD slot, reinstalled the card, and rebooted the phone.

Initially when going back into Gallery, all pics are there and I can open and browse them. So I tried ES File Explorer again, and it sees the directory, but says its empty. So I went out and tried another directory, and now it says it doesnt see any directories. If I go back into Gallery, it shows little icons with exclamation again.

During that troubleshooting, my screen went to sleep while on the Gallery screen. When I woke up the screen again, the pics were back up in the Gallery, but still not seeing any data on the SD Card in ES File Explorer. I tried to replicate that again by turning off the screen, but this time the pics still werent showing in the Gallery.

Are there any services that would control this sort of thing? Thoughts?

FYI...installed Astro to see if it makes a difference...same problem. It sees the files at first but if u change directories and then go back, it doesnt see it anymore.

I am rooted with Fresh 0.2 as well but have sprint.tv along with all of my other apps. Maybe you didn't wipe or your wipe failed before you flashed the rom. Maybe try to flash rom again and do wipes before hand. Only thing I can think of.
 
Just tried Qik for the first time and it FCs everytime I try to open Video Chat. Everything else in Qik works fine. I saw that sprint was going to charge for it but you could still get lower quality video and a few less bells and whistles in standard edition free. I also saw that Flipz said to re-wipe and flash again to fix Qik, but I did wipe and re-flash twice without it working. Idk if this is a rom issue because I haven't tried to use it before. Anyone else have this issue?

[Fixed] I just uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it works perfect now.
 
I got 15 hours of moderate-heavy use yesterday on stock. Flashed Fresh late last night, and got only FIVE hours of similar usage. Also the camera doesn't work now.

Which version did you flash? Was it 0.3? If it was then you must have unlocked nandroid for it to work properly. Also, did you wipe data and dalvik-cache before flashing this? You want to do that also. I just flashed 0.3 and camera works just fine.
 
I did 0.2 just found out about 0.3 going to give that a shot, first I have to unlock nandroid. Yes I did the wipes etc, did everything the idiot proof guide said to do.
 
Alright yesterday i caved in and flashed my toast rooted evo with fresh 0.2 and so far its been great.
According to battery indicator its been unplugged for 23 hours with 35% battery remaining. browsing on 4g, twitter/email/weather notification and setcpu set to go to 245ghz in standby/sleep mode.
 
Does anyone know if we are able to change the phone menu on the bottom, the one with the arrow up for apps and the + for widgets? After having Fresh 02 on my phone for a week now I'm kinda not liking that one specific thing, I love the rest, just not that. I'm going to keep searching for options and probably check in over at XDA, but I'll post here in case you guys know.
 
I use advanced launcher which I think is included in the ROM but can be downloaded from the market. It gives you four docked icons at the bottom so it's your choice of what apps you have there. in the center is the all apps button which looks like a square comprised of smaller squares. So it essentially frees up some home screen space by giving you three additional apps that are always on a home screen if you make one of them the phone app.

To get the option to choose a launcher you have to go into settings and apps, choose HTC Sense and clear the defaults. Next time you hit the home button you should see the option pop up to choose your launcher.

The only downside is you lose the HTC widgets which I think is lame. I paid for the phone, I should be able to use them regardless of why launcher I use. But I suppose if I could they could be easily extracted and used on non HTC phones.
 
update on my Gallery/file explorer issue...I ended up having the same problem with just the toast rooted stock ROM and the Fresh 0.3 ROM so I dont think its related to the Fresh ROMs. Currently Im on Fresh 0.3 and I decided to try my old SD Card and so far so good...
 
I tried advanced launcher and it keeps force closing. Launcher Pro only has 3 pages, boo. Anyone have any better launchers that they use. I wanna get rid of sense.

1. Enter Settings>Applications and check unknown sources to allow installation of non-market apps
2. Open up ES File Manager on your phone
3. Enter fresh-removed-apks file
4. Pick your app and click on it
5. Install it and your done

I just flashed Fresh the other day and noticed that the mic wasn't working. I unrooted, found out that it was working, then rerooted and flashed Fresh again to see it wasn't working. I've been looking all over the place for a solution with no success until now.

As for looking at instructions regarding flashing a rom such a Fresh, not everyone managed to find official instructions. "Instructions" for rooting and flashing are scattered all over the place on the web and in forums.
 
Can someone verify that fresh 0.3 removes the need for a WiFi connection to upload camcorder videos to YouTube? In other words, can you use your 4g or 3g connection to do it? Thanks for your help.
