That will remove all networking. Internet, texts,...

I'm wondering if dun stand for dial up networking. Also wondering what gtalk is used for.

removing gtalk will result in the market being broken if I remember correctly.

I've had gtalk frozen via titanium backup for over a month with no issues and removed it last week. Market still works fine.

About TTS. Is this accessibility software? I've had Pico TTS and TTS Services frozen for a while and no noticeable issues.

Ahh: text to speech

I'd like to remove 3g hotspot from sys also...

How about a list of what not to remove and why?

How are you actually removing these apps? What is the procedure?

There are some applications (certain uninstaller apps) that require root that can uninstall them, titanium backup can also. Or you can use adb, terminal or a root explorer to go into the folder and delete them

That would be correct, thats why this is posted in the all things root forum. Removing bloatware was the original reason i got into root.

I don't have a problem using a one click root...but I'm not sure I want to go through all the hoopla to do it the way I have read about. I don't suppose there is a one click root for 2.2.1 out there somewhere?

The guide trident posted isnt difficult and has recently been updated and is much simpler <if that is a word, more simple? You know what i mean. Or the super one click posted below

Removing gtalk will break Gmail, and messaging, as well as phone and text, so removing it isnt recommended, if you removed it and have no problems, then your didnt actually remove it.

Also ANything else thats not in that list, if you read the apk name you can see why not to remove it.

Gmail = Google Mail App
Email = Pop3 Email Support
Phone = Cant make calls
MMS = Cant get or send MMS or SMS
DUNserver = Cant get or send Data

The rest are very simple!

Removing most of these apps make NO impact on the phone performance, infact if its a Google app, then removing it wont make your phone faster at all! (Google apps are for the most part integrated to the OS, and the Apk is just the GUi for it.)

just go on your settings-applications-manage apps-facebook-remove 'or' go on your market and hit menu and click apps then find facebook and delete it.

since facebook didnt come stock, you dont need root permission to delete it

Thanks for your help. I wound up using Titanium which I'm sure is the equivalent of using a sledgehammer instead of tweezers. I'll remember to try simple first. Not everything has to be done the complicated way. Thanks for the reminder.

In the list where you said think office you mean thinkfree office right?
