Froyo EC05 (DI18 users - Install instructions post 39)!

If I did the install from samsungs website and I reformat my sd card will that mess with my froyo install????

It shouldn't no, and it's probably not a bad idea. In fact, it would probably be a good idea to first back everything up then wipe everything and start as fresh as you can...

I don't think they're allowing a DL version this time, though they might after the 4 day OTA period.

You know, I'm starting to suspect the REAL reason they pulled EB13 is because they initially forgot about the Sprint ID crap when they sent it out...

So I contacted Sprint about another question, but went ahead and asked about EC05, and an OTW update. He had no information about that at all.
But it was weird how he worded the OTA update.

Me: Is the OTA update going out right now?
Him: You should receive something about it on March 24th.
Him: I mean, you should receive a nice surprise tomorrow.

I assume it was a weird way to word that I will definitely get it tomorrow if I haven't gotten it yet.

You aren't getting the update... SURPRISE!! But the new Galaxy SII will be coming out in a month or two. ;)

Lol. That actually wouldn't surprised me...

I'm debating on what phone to get next, I heard the Galaxy SII is going to be pretty sick.

So the whole point of the update is to add that Sprint ID bloat? Maybe I should pass on it.

Sprint ID, from what I've read, is a friendly launcher to those new to android to help them customize their interests. Most of the users on here and on XDA probably won't need it as we are usually more advanced users.

Is it bloat... not in the normal sense.

Kelmar, that's all fine and good for people who rooted and run Eclair. I'm running EB13 and I don't want to root. Any suggestions?

Your best bet right now would be to wait for the update then (until we can get the update zip for EB13 to EC05).

I'm starting to wonder if the OTA is being fully implemented. I'm not reading many posts here from people who have received the OTA update. That's unusual for an OTA update that was allegedly released on March 21st and is supposed to be wrapped up tomorrow.

Basically I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever see this update.

The update is rolling out to Epics running older ver DI18 first it looks like.

So, will those of us that got stuck with the F'd up EB13 version be getting EC05, ever? It would be nice to get the allegedly "fixed version" to replace the f'd version known as EB13.

We have no idea till it happens. From what I have been reading yes EB13 will get the update.

The root of your SD card is considered the base of the SD card (that is, not inside of any folders).
