Was getting some flaky behavior w/Chevy 1.0GHz LV (scrolling weirdness in apps, strangely enough)...installed jdlfg's 900MHz kernel and things are good again. I used to run 1.0GHz kernels w/out issue on 2.1.

Same here.....now I can't find a 1GHz kernel that will work for me on 2.2 except for P3, but the temps are way to unstable for me. I'm using Chevy 1.1 ULV, thinking about JDLFG's 1.1 but I'm not sure yet, we'll see. 900MHz also runs pretty well on mines, but I do like the 1.1GHz option lol

I know...the difference isn't too much, but the need for more speed is always there... :)

I LOVED jdflg's kernels on 2.1, ran beautifully for me, fast, stable, very cool, and good battery life...haven't had the Froyo 900 kernel on long enough to tell how it will affect battery/temps, but everything seems completely stable again now that I'm using it.

You know that Chevy has a MV kernel as well, right? You might try that, could be the ULV is not enough voltage. I may try jdflg's 1.0GHz or Chevy's MV 1.0GHz at some point in the future...

I'm gonna give JDFLG's 1.1GHz a try. See what it does over the next 2 days. Chevy's 1.1 ULV running at max 1GHz got me almost 14 hrz of battery life with 40% left. That's with moderate usage throughout the day. I'mma see if JDLFG can match it, if not get a bit better. The only thing is Chevy's ULV kernels are warm for me......averaging 98F....38C.

Posting update like I said I would;
Of all Chevy's kernels, anything over 1 GHz, no matter what voltage made my Droid puke. I'm back on his ULV 1.0 GHz kernel, where I'll stay.

Chevy ULV 1.25 running well. Won't work with quadrant if set at 1.25 (reboots the phone) but it works at the 1.1 setting. Quadrant graphic shows my phone top of the list in the benchmark.

Also, if you recently flashed a rom, give it at least 24 hours before you start changing kernels and heavy tweaking, it can take about a day for the rom to settle in and reboots may cease after that.

Very interesting. I did not know that. Thanks I'm on bb 2.2 and it's my first time. Would you suggest starting going up slowly or would you suggest going for perhaps a 1.1 kernal then moving up or down from there?

It doesn't really matter. Droids are built differently. Some can handle a higher setting than some. It all depends on what works on your phone. But my humble opinion is, find your peak just to eliminate the curiosity, and sit somewhere around 800-900MHz. I have 1.1GHz by Chevy and I barely even use 1GHz, but at least i know it's there on call, for when i wanna show off to my friends or something. But I sit around 900MHz, cool temps and battery life is pretty fair. Still testing different kernels and seeing how stable they are on my phone.

So far JDLFG and Chevy's are about the same for me. P3Droid is unstable with temps on my phone.....sometimes cold sometimes hot. Not comfortable with me. But yeah, anyways, that's what I'd do.

So far, the only kernels that work for me on Froyo are P3Droid's... I'm trying JDFLG now, but Chevy's always resulted in reboots for me (ULV, LV, MED).

Edit: JDFLG just locked up my Droid... It's back to P3 where I'm getting 1724 on Quadrant!

I never even heard of Jake's kernels until I first flashed Froyo, but I've got to say, best luck I've had yet. My Droid is running cool, and my battery life is better than it's ever been (though I'm sure that's more the ROM).

What really stood out to me was the SetCPU benchmarks. Even though every other kernel gave me great MFLOPS, the ms were still pretty average. But w/ Jake's kernels I'm getting the lowest shortbench I've ever even heard of. I got 129ms on 1GHz and 114ms on 1.2GHz!

Also, I had quite a bit of kernel trouble w/ Froyo. It's like nothing was stable. So give em a whirl. It's easy enough to flash a diff one.

Im glad I read your post cause I flashed this and Im getting a short bench around 106ms at 1.2:eek:. Thats just crazy.... My Quadrant is getting 600 to 700 on a full load also.

What is the battery life like running that fast? How about the temp?

Chevys has always been stable for me till Froyo. 1.250 was not all that great for me and I have clocked up to 1.3 with his on some roms.

Battery life is very good except when searching for signal (I get no signal in my office). I usually go in airplane mode for portions of the work day so that my battery doesn't get killed looking for a signal. That said, at home I leave it active and the battery will last for about 16 hours with moderate usage.

Temp is hard to judge (since CPU temp isn't yet available for Froyo). I used to monitor battery temp using temp monitor, but after a while it seemed pointless as I was never experiencing high temps - just the average (around 28-30C idle, going up to 40-45C with heavy CPU).

I'm running BB Froyo v0.1 with P3Droids LV 1200 kernel.

I went out searching again, and still didn't find any Bekit kernels for Froyo. Please let me know if any of you find additional Froyo kernels not listed in the OP.
