Root Full hdmi mirroring possible with root?

kevin86

Newbie
Hey all,

Sorry for the newbie question, but I've done a quick search and not exactly found the answer I was looking for. My D1 is on its last leg and I'm going to be getting a new phone this week to hold me over until all the LTEs arrive. I just wanted to know if full mirroring was ever made possible through root. I saw something about a real hd app that became buggy with the 2.2 kernel and was pulled. Was that ever fixed or another option available? Is this a part of most custom ROMs now? Sorry if this was a frequent question, I just don't want to invest in something that doesn't do what I am hoping. If I can't get that to work I'll probably just end up with a Dinc. Thanks guys.

the X cannot mirror like the bionic will be able to. the real hd app allowed you to put what was on your X's screen onto the tv BUT your screen on the X was "stuck" into the app... so you had to look at the tv and navigate by "guessing" where to touch on your phone if that makes sense.
looks like some of the new phones coming out though will have the ability to actually mirror whats showing on your phones screen and put it onto the tv while still being able to see and interact with your phones screen normally.

Not to second guess your decision, but can you hold out a few more weeks? It seems crazy to buy a new DroidX now if you planning to get one of the new LTE phones when they are released.

Personally if it was me, I would try to wait at least until we find out the release schedules for some of the phones announces at CES this week. Otherwise you are going to be spending some $$$ on a phone that you don't want long term (according to your first post).

Is it worth $500 to get a phone this week vs waiting a little longer? If $500 doesn't matter, then go for it.

or sign a 1 year contract and you can get a new phone again in 10 months. thats what Im going to do in march when I am able to upgrade.
Now that verizon is getting rid of the NE2 deal I see no reason for me to sign up for a 2 year contract.

Well I have a deep hatrid for apple and I love android, so that rules out an iphone. My D1 has been crashing for a couple months now to where I'm doing battery pulls about every hour for it freezing up. I've wiped and cleared everything and started from scatch now about 10 times and the only conclusion I've came to is I've for a lack of better words "burnt up the cpu". I'm now back to stock 2.2 and kernel and still having problems so I don't know how long it will get by, but it's definately annoying me. As far as LTE release dates go, I won't have LTE in my area for a while, so if I had a good phone for now I wouldn't need the first thing that dropped and could wait to see how they all perform in the real world. As of now though, I honestly can't see my droid hanging on for another month and it's driving me nuts now.

What? No more 'new every 2'? So what are they going to? Or does this mean when you sign up on Verizon to get, say a Bionic... you pay the $550 dollar pricetag? If so they will really be shooting themselves in the foot. Who can afford that?
