Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Hard to believe that the OG Motorola DROID now has functioning ICS ROMs and an alpha JB ROM! :eek:

My Beloved Droid Droidette sits in semi-retirement, still on TheUltimateDroid (Froyo) :p

I'm almost tempted to bring her up to date... but then showing it off later wouldn't have the same impact. I think I'll keep her old-school just for that purpose. Besides: once the Moto X or Nexus 5 comes out and I retire Ginny, D will go into permanent retirement and into the archives.

It's pretty fantastic, what I use. With root, you can install it as a system app so only good hackers can remove it. :)
Also, you can hide it from the app drawer so they don't even know it's installed. Dial a four digit # and it brings it up. Pretty cool. I tried out all the features with the online app and it's pretty incredible. Definitely worth the $3 or 4 bucks that it costs.

I want to update my OG just for nostalgia, but I'm waiting for it to reach another milestone. She's getting close to 1 year straight uptime.

Who says hackers can't put together a stable rom.:D
 
Anyone else heard the rumor that Disney is drafting a cartoon series called Star Wars Babies? The characters are all little kids with big anime eyes and learn things like respect, consideration and fairness.

Oh never mind... I just made that one up to get everyone's heart started this morning :p

Morning all... Happy weekend since the sun is shinning, windows opened for the first time since we have been here. Catching up on the DVRd being human, lost girl and income property today. Then off to the store... And being lazy. I hope. Wife will probably have me doing some kind of work on the house today, but that's fine with me. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
 
Hey Ryan, nothing wrong with a veg out day! I am kind of enjoying the same.

So anyone having a super bowl party? I am having a dip party, with queso dip, Buffalo chix dip, ranch dip w/ veggies, and cheese sticks with marinara. :D
 
Indeed; I get a brief rush of excitement whenever I read juicy rumors about this device. If many of these rumors turn out to be true, this is going to be an EPIC device.
 
Not to be a downer...but I would expect the final product to be riddled with compromises. Name an Android phone and I'll tell you where the comprises are. The first uncompromising phone will be epic indeed...just not holding my breath.

Sorry... I hate being a downer.

I do agree that there will have to be compromises, otherwise the MSRP for this device might end up around $1000 dollars. But we can dream, right :rolleyes:
