Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I am now happily sitting by my fireplace, reading a rather pleasant ebook on my brand new 128GB ipad mini retina, and a mug of hot chocolate beside me.

Life is good, my friends. Life is good.
 
I would have played if I had gotten an invite when it first started... But now, not so much.

What's up everyone? Going on day 6 of tonsillectomy recovery for both my boys. My oldest is fine, but the youngest has been having a rough go of it. Apparently stage two is about to begin, with the surgery areas scabbing off soon. I just hope they are back to normal by Christmas Eve. And man is their breath awful!
 
So quick question for anyone who has/had iPads:

I have found 2 tiny dead pixels on my new retina Mini. If I take it to the Apple store, even though I bought it at Best Buy, will they replace it for me?

Or since I'm within the return window, do I HAVE to take it to Best Buy?

I'm getting a little embarrassed walking into Best Buy nowadays. I've been trying lately to go at different times throughout different days, so that I don't get the same customer service person, but I can tell that the employees recognize me. :(

Okay I'm back.. I've been very busy. I updated my computer and am giving my powerhouse to my son because he's studying computer programming. I got a vaio flip 15. I got a bluetooth sound system. All this for my studio. The buying process had me very very busy. I was buried. I'm up for a bit of air. Phone-wise: still gnex. Interesting thing, my vaio is a convertible and folds into a touchscreen tablet. Nice. Carry on.
 
I bought a 25th anniversary Thriller album on Amazon. I should have looked around on the product page. The jacket for the the album is clear plastic. It is poorly constructed as each side and bottom where the album touches, the album pokes through. The brightside is that the artwork on the album itself is cool. Oh well, only $20.

Found out last night that BB opened up at 7am today. So I went in on my way to work and exchanged.

New retina Mini is flawless!

I think I'm done now. I really think so!! :)
 
Boy, I have missed this bunch. For those that remember me, I'm still rocking the old GNEX. I am going to upgrade soon though, and very sad that Big Red will never have another Nexus device.

You can use a Nexus 7 on Verizon. And there is always hope for VoLte.

I have very little hope in Verizon and the spirit of the Nexus. They just want too much control, and if I remember correctly, don't you have to use an existing SIM card for the Nexus 7, and VZW doesn't actually support it, although you can activate it on their network? Honestly though, I really just meant for a phone. I use my Nexus 7 wifi only and love it.

If I ever have to come up with another screen name I'm going to make sure the abbreviation is not that of a phone or a store. Throws me off every time. :p:D

Meh. However you say it, it still works on Verizon. I expect a Nexus phone when VoLte takes affect.
 
I'm guessing everyone is busy with holiday stuff?

Went to Ikea in Pittsburgh today and purchased a new tv stand. I have it all put together, only two holes were off for one of the door hinges. Tomorrow I'll get everything rearranged and drill a couple 2" holes for cables.

Then all I'll need is a new couch and love seat and I'll finally have a living room that I like.
 
Holiday stuff... Work is insane this time of year. I did find time for a Merry Christmas to me though...and am now officially broke. Bought a new car. A silver KIA Soul. Even managed to find one in my area with a manual transmission. :D
 
Nothing like driving a stick, BB! :)

HOME is insane these days. Darling Bride is 3-4 pints of blood low and doctors haven't found out where she's losing it or how fast. She's very weak and prone to headaches... mostly due to her cells not getting enough oxygen from the blood she has left. That and her heart is working double time pumping what's in there. Quite concerning: they won't give her a transfusion until they can identify where it's going.

Her sister, freshly widowed, is also here for Christmas. Disabled to the point that she needs help. Other sister staying here helping, but she's disabled too! No wonder I go to the store so often: it's a break from having my name called to do/fix/look up something! Tough being the only rooster in the hen house... even all three dogs are female :p

I am as ready for Christmas as I'm going to get. Of course, I start my Christmas shopping on December 26th... then, throughout the year, as I see things on sale that I think would make good gifts, I buy them and stash them away. By the end of October I'm generally 95% done with it all.

Understandably, I will likely be very sparse in the forums for the next few days. You guys behave (mostly) and have the merriest Christmas ever. Or happy Hanukkah. Or Happy Kwanzaa. Or just have a reasonably pleasant but otherwise non-descript winter week :D
