Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Moto G, Halon! :)
I went with the $30/month plan. It's just about up, not sure if I'm going to renew for another month or so.
(biggest drawback for the Moto G is no LTE, so you're just on HSPA+ which is surprisingly good where I am)

morning ladies and gets hopefully i am back i got my new computer Friday and excited ill be able to code and compile all on one machine now :D

The Nokia phone is 4g so I'll probably just get that? Plus I'll be able to try out a Windows phone for cheap.

Not directly where I live but it is nearby at the main Penn State campus in State College. It annoys me that they don't have here since there is a satellite campus.

I just tried one out for a month through Target.

They have a 30 day guarantee, so you can bring it back before 30 days for any reason.

I wanted to try it out and see how it worked as I drive a large area. I ended up running Iheartradio, tuning to a station, then just threw it up on the dash and drove around.

Wherever I lost signal, I figured I had lost cell service. It has approximately the same coverage as my Verizon signal, but I didn't do tests for speed, 4g, lte, etc,

I had intended to pipe it through my radio through Aux in, but my phone had some issue and stopped playing when I plugged it in all the way. It would work if you gently inserted the plug just a bit, but when you snapped it home, it would stop playing.

I just wanted to know if it got signal and it was pretty comparable. Comparable enough, I could switch and don't believe I'd have many issues.

It cost about $110 bucks to start, and I got a $50 credit back when I turned it in.

Still looking at the Moto X. Hoping for a price break as they've been out 6 months, should bemaking that last final price cut.

Looking at switching 3 lines to non contract plan.

Does anyone know of the cheapest way to try a Tmobile phone? I want to see what the service is like in my area.

I posted on FB with one of the city "yard sale" pages if anyone has tried T-mobile. 3 responses so far saying not to.

Anyone else going to watch Samsung Unpacked?

Very underwhelmed.

I was expecting a metal/premium case design and almost no bezels, like the thousand mock-ups which have been floating around for months.

This looks like any other phone out there.

Sadly, I must agree with Han. (I HATE to have to agree with Han.) :p I was underwhelmed with the s5. I was wondering, "why?" Because everyone was saying aluminum, but no. Folks were saying curved screen, but no.

I dunno. Nothing has me excited. Nothing. I wonder if I'm losing android interest. I'm curious as to what the iPhone 6 phablet will be like. Probably more disappointment. Why plastic all the time? WHY? MY DX was a freaking tank, years ago. I do miss the build quality and hardware superiority. I don't miss the bootloader encryption. So? I wait. I am underwhelmed. Where is the rush that we had before the gnex? So much sameness.

Called my vehicle insurance guy about the bullet hole. He said $100 deductible. I'm getting a new bumper to fix a small hole.

Why get it fixed? That would make a great story, about how your wife/gf was kidnapped and you tracked her down, beat the kidnappers up, rescued her, and were shot at as you sped away.

The S5 did have a few good things: water and dust resistant, improved camera, sd card slot and removable battery.

But overall it was meh.

The Xperia Z2 has all of those things, incl. better water resistance, not sure about the camera (20Mp), SD card slot, fixed battery, but massive. Biggest downfall, it'll never come to Verizon.

True.

It's funny how often you hear "Verizon will never get (insert phone/anything here)."
