Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Today's the day, folks!

I'll be in Nashville with the original steamin' demons of USS John Young - the crew from 1985-1989! We're getting together for a (roughly) 30-year reunion... some of the guys arrived yesterday and started early: everyone else meets in a private bar room (no, your humble ol' Chief won't be drinking the hard stuff) this afternoon. It's gonna be a blast!

:D

You'll show us your new tattoos, right? :D

HA! And again I say HA!

Believe it or not, I made it through over 20 years of Navy service with NO tattoos and NO piercings. And I'm not about to sully up my body's pristine canvas with it. For those of you who are into that stuff: good on ya. Ain't for me.

I can tell you this about the reunion: it was AMAZING. We bounced off each other's memories to re-live a past untold in nearly 30 years, and caught up with the present. I arrived home yesterday afternoon, more exhausted than I have been in YEARS. Kissed the Darling Bride, pet the dogs, went straight to bed. Stayed there until this morning.

Here we are, all posed onstage at Jimmy Buffet's Magaritaville Nashville, who were most gracious to host us:

Your humble Chief is far left, wearing his original cruise jacket and t-shirt from 30 years ago and yes, I can still fit in it! :D

So now things are (relatively) back to normal. Back to your regularly- scheduled nonsense :p

So I’m looking for a cheap (around $700) laptop for productivity (my wife has commandeered the macbook) and gaming. More for gaming. Older games like Skyrim, maybe some newer call of duty, but probably not.

Any suggestions? I hate pulling the trigger on laptops.

I don't know ... looks like fun. ;)

Seriously, if you want some bang for your buck (sorry, that was too obvious), I'd check out the offerings on Woot.com. It's amazon's closeout and refurb arm. I picked up a nice ultrabook last fall for around $500 that normally lists for $850. No problems at all with it. The thing with Woot is you have to keep your eye out as deals change daily and don't last too long.

Almost dropped the gnex down the toilet but deflected it last second. #newFoneFail

Awww, why are you guys poo-pooing the G-Nex? It was a mighty fine device in its day, 2-1/2 years ago. Ginny took everything I threw at her with rare good grace. No, she's not a Note 3, but for a stepchild device in the Galaxy family she was more than capable. And if my Note 3 takes a nose dive, she's in semi-retirement, ready to jump back into the game :)

he.names.his. PHONESSSSSS???? :rolleyes::rolleyes:;):p

Every single one. I've named them since the OG Droid. She was Droidette (D for short), the GNex was Ginny and the Note 3 is Gina. I have already named my Note 4 Aleshia, because she'll be a leash on my hip :p

:D

Don't worry I do too.

My computers are named Vishera and Richard. Their cousins.

Then I have my tables, Sammy, Nexus, and Nexi. Then there's my phone named Mota, not Moto but Mota.

I don't follow Soccer. I just wish they'd just pick the ball up and throw it in already. Frustrated! :p
