Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Just flashed Kang's updated CM9 ROM. Build 11.

It's sweet. From settings, in the ROM manager, you can set the LED color and how fast it blinks!

Flashing Franco's 7.1 kernel. It's supposed to be better with battery life.

Ah, nice! It has the option to set your softkey layout. 3 buttons: Back, Home, Search, with the ability to long-press home for the recent apps action.

So I got bored at work today and decided to test out the Gorilla Glass on my OG Droid that has been sitting in my desk drawer since I got the old Dinc 2 delivered at the office.

I can report that the scratch-proof test, using a stainless steel steak knife in the common kitchen area, yielded surprising results. There were, in fact, (faint) scratches that remained after vigorous rubbing with a silk cloth. So it's not, in fact, completely scratch proof as I thought it was.

It is also not hammer-proof.

Tee hee.
I just heard that used OG Droids are still selling for $40-80 on eBay. That's with an un-cracked screen though. :D

I called *611 on an unrelated issue yesterday and the automated hold thing was still advertising it. She may want to call VZW customer service and get it before it's gone :)

thanks man, I was also able to find on their website that it is still ongoing. link for anyone else searching the forums for the double data plan is below:

This might be stupid thinking, but I hate dealing with Ebay as a seller and I love destroying inanimate objects with a hammer.

It was worth it.

I don't know how it happened, but last night I noticed a couple tiny "nicks" on my GNex. They're barely noticeable when the screen is on, but I'm still sick about it. Guess I'll get some screen protectors. :(

Yeah, I read about that - I dunno, I shouldn't have to use a third party app to accomplish what should be a pretty basic task, right? Just makes me a little uncomfortable, who knows what other info that app could access?

For those of you who play Words with Friends, Zynga has finally given Android users the ability to play ad free.
Awesome :D How do we access that?

Does your Nova Launcher still work with the CM9 ROM?

I know , I had hoped it would be built in on this too but I have used that app for quite a while and never noticed anything amiss.

In Words with Friends go into the store and it will give you the option. Its 2.99. Well worth it IMO

I'm having problems setting up the SDK (I didn't have to do it for the Inc). Any good YouTube videos or walkthroughs I should check out? Thanks!

BTW, I have a Mac.

Oh, I thought you meant it was free, haha. I think the option to remove the ads has been there for a while, hasn't it? Not worth 3 bucks, IMO.

So I am undergoing the process of backing up my files to a 1TB external drive in preparation for a dual boot of Windows/Ubuntu. Wish me luck!

Let me know how you like 7.1 franco. Hope you keep it long enough to be able to tell :p

You've always been able to change the led flash rate in romans toro builds, but you're saying you can change the color now?

edit: oh yeah I see now and he eventually wants to implement it being in an "on" state to let you see the color change awesome!

I bought an app called HDR Camera+ that does all the HDR processing on the phone itself. There's also a free version.

Here are two photos I took at dusk. The first is normal and the second was done with the HDR app.

Yeah, the HDR one is a bit noisy, but it WAS getting quite dark. I've been playing around with this app quite a bit and have taken a few photos that I'm quite happy with.

I, for one, think the Galaxy Nexus camera is just fine. I've used it to take a lot of photos of my kids who are always on the move and of the happenings in a dimly lit pub. It works for me and I'm happy.

Yeah I have been using the pro version of hdr
