Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Hola fellow Nexicans! I was sad that the other thread was closed, but not sad any more.

My GNex is just finishing up encrypting itself, a feature that was LONG overdue in Android. How are we liking the Gnexuses?

Did anybody NOT root? I haven't - I don't see the point for me, since it's already vanilla android with just 2 VZW apps that are already out of sight, out of mind. I only rooted my Eris to see what it was like and because I was bored with it.

I just feel like I'm alone in the non-rooting camp. Anyone else here? We've got plenty of beer!

No root for me. I never had a need to root my OG, and with this also being vanilla I see no need for it. The only thing I've rooted is my Nook, which was essential for the functionality I wanted out of it.

Remember that rumor about the Nexus being able to dock into a tablet? I would personally love that.

Good Morning Gnexers! :D

Does anyone here have a link to a horizontal dock for the Nexus? Verizon had the vertical docks in the system, but no horizontal docks. Right now I'm using a photo frame to prop up Ginny at my bedside. That's a temporary fix (I hope)...

I was going to order from Let's Talk but they have the GN on backorder for 1-2 weeks - I don't think I can wait that long! Might just have to pony up the $300 and get it today...

yeah, WTF?

Meh, its a relevant expression at times like I'm having right now (trying to pass a kidney stone )

F*#& THE WORLD!

Oh ok. Thanks. And sorry. I've had kidney stones before. It's not something I'd wish on too many people.

Gooood Morning fellow Nexicans!
So, anything I miss?!!!.... Lol, man it will be hard to break the habit of asking that question... and feeling compelled to log on to a certain thread of epicness!! I hope all of you are enjoying your hard-fought prizes! I know I am :) .

Thanks, BB for creating this for us. I think I would have felt lost without it.

Talking to a dev right now about the issue -- hopefully I get stuff to test.

This is what he told me FYI:
Yes, I'm currently trying to find whats causing such a high AndroidOS battery drain - but its so intermittent I can't pinpoint one exact cause.

The kernel is throwing out messages that its being blasted with IRQs (interrupt requests) and not allowing the phone to sleep (check your awake time).

I will keep you all posted if I hear anything over at XDA regarding this though.

Awesome! Please keep us posted!!

Are there any estimated first day sales numbers out there? Or projected first week sales? I'm really interested in how well this sold/is selling.

I'll see if I can get you in contact with the dev since you are not experiencing it.

You on 4.0.2 correct?
So 22% for Android OS is normal?

Android version: 4.0.2
Baseband version: I515.09 V.EK05 / I515.EK02
Kernel version: 3.0.8-gaaa2611, android-build@apa28 #1
Build number: ICL53F

Here's my battery usage so far. Android OS seems to have ticked down a notch:

Also, if it matters, I've got almost nothing installed on here yet - figured it'd be pointless since I'm going to be unlocking the bootloader tomorrow.

My pleasure!
I am a little sad that Steven never did his thing as an officiant. Lol.
