Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Wife left the N7 at work yesterday!
Wanted to spend some time working on it today since CM10 is not doing it any favors. I think I'll honestly just flash it back to stock and wait out until we have some more solid/bug free ROMs.

Morning everyone!
Looks like Phelps is done. Lochte's still dominating though.

I dunno, Phelps looked pretty strong in the 4X100M Relay last night, got out to a full body length lead, it was Lochte who blew the lead at the end...

Morning all and happy belated Pup!!

I wanted to second the fatherly pride is raising children...I received a huge compliment at a store recently when the employee compared how well behaved my children were compared to other children that were in the store....makes you swell (secretly) with pride to know you are doing the right thing....to Pup: I am honored to watch from afar, how Evan has reacted to his prizes and to see how he has been raised, and watch the friendly folks here make his day!! And to Capn...I know I said this before, but it takes a special person to make a kids day like that.
Thank you all for reminding us all how we can be a community!!!

Oh yeah..its Monday. And the dog got skunked at 4:30am PST today...lots of fun cleaning up. I still hear the danged thing in the backyard....dang it, gotta chase it off.....

Haha, my kids are Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde at the store, one day they can be perfectly behaved, the next, fighting, whining, and screaming the entire time

My fantasy draft with my girlfriend's family is tonight. Got my cheat sheets printed out and all ready to go.

Sucks that there is no ESPN Fantasy football app though.
Nice. I'm all about the fantasy baseball, and I do it on Yahoo. Just not into football as much. That's great that you do it with your girlfriend's family though.

So stupid but fun for those on Jelly Bean.

How is the Yahoo app?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...UuY2xpZW50LmFuZHJvaWQuZmFudGFzeWZvb3RiYWxsIl0.

Never done fantasy football. We do a "picks" for the season at work but since I work every Sunday, I just gave up in interest. Definitely my favorite sport to watch. Perhaps I should change my days off. :(
I like the Yahoo apps, and the Yahoo desktop interface as well, I find it much easier to use than ESPN in general.

EDIT: Anyone else do fantasy baseball? Or is it strictly football fans in here? :p

Morning all, thanks to the crop of folks wishing me belated birthday wishes.

I had a quiet birthday with just me and Evan. Went to McDonald's and thoroughly confused / wowed half a dozen people including the clerk when I paid with my GNex, made my day. Next time I am going to really stump them and have Evan pay with his N7.

Later, Evan and I went out for ice cream, just him and I, that was really nice.

Evan can get really hyper at home or when he is with my parents, but he is always a little angel in public. He still acts like a five year old, but no tantrums or anything like that. I don't hold it against other parents when kids act up, I'm just thankful Evan isn't one of them. We were in Walmart yesterday and a mom with a curious wanderer around Evan's age pointed out to her son how well Evan behaved (her son wasn't being bad, just being a child) so that was nice.

I'll preface this with the fact that I know NOTHING about kids. ;)
My wife's adopted sister is ~4 and she's a complete storm when she's around her folks and us. She loves us to death. :)
When she's just with the wife and no one else, she can be a complete angel, completely in control. One of those things I'll eventually learn about kids. :o

Sounds like a great day, Pup! I'm sure you've got many more years on me, but it's nicer to have a really chill, relaxed birthday at my age now (maybe once I hit 30 it'll be crazy though :)). I would assume Evan would use his free $10, or are you giving him a very substantial allowance to buy McD?

Aj, did you get this deal?:
AT&T officially drops HTC One X price to $99 on contract
If not, I didn't say anything. ;)

Yes and no. ???

I bought the phone off contract. I figured 99 bucks + the probable 350$ ETF paid for the phone, so I went that route. So its month to month on the family plan.

When I asked about it, it was listed on the signage (if not, I was going see if they honored the price online) So, when they rang me up it came to like 600 bucks! I was like  I guess it was still in the computer, but they fixed it (I tried to get it for free, but that did not work  )

Its a damn nice phone, really. If verizon had this device I would be all over it. Time to start looking for some roms for it :)

I almost jumped on the 16gig N7 but my xoom don't get much use anymore and I just spent nearly 500 bucks on my HOX. Tempting tempting....

Ah yes, a new iPhone is coming and investment blogs are predicting doom.

This cycle will never end, it seems -

The Apple Product Cycle

Warning - NSFW

2nd warning - don't be drinking coffee while reading. :D

While we are on the Apple kick, this is just shoddy journalism IMO:

Article from today:
Android US market share: Q2 2012 Android share declined as iOS grew

Android went from 60.6% to 56.3%
Apple went from 23.2% to 33.2%

Article from a year ago:
Android, iOS gain U.S. market share in Q2 while BlackBerry slides, NPD says
Android was 52%
Apple was 29%

I understand that these are different companies that did Did they not even bother to check year old articles? Or just figure no one else will? C'mon man!

To add to it, NPD's Q1 2012 shows Android at 61%, Apple at 29%, or in other words, the exact opposite affect as what that other analysts' data is showing... Considering Apple's smartphone sales dropped from Q1 to Q2, and The S3 and HOX rolled out, any doubts as to which way those numbers went from Q1?
